I went to MPI's site to see if any information (like a release date) was posted for the HL sets and found a listing for the Lucille Ball Specials DVD that will be released next month. On it, it lists special features including a long-lost "Let's Talk To Lucy" radio broadcast interview with Dean Martin, bloopers, and rare Lucy footage. Even with the release of the specials it sounds like some great bonus features will be included, too!!!

Lucie Arnaz mentioned that Lucy was a "pack rat" and saved everything. Theres a treasure trove of film footage of outtakes, bloopers, interviews etc. The dvds sets are expected to be loaded with material! I can't wait!

I wish MPI would gives us an official release date for HL!

So do I ... I am betting it will be somewhat late summer or fall, before Christmas. But I am getting excited for this. Especially since I expected this to come out BEFORE The Lucy Show did.

I think they announced the first release should be late summer. So the announcement should be anytime. I'm also anxiously awaiting for The Mothers-in-Law (produced by Desi Arnaz).

I think you are a little confused, first the lucy specials DVD with dean martin & jackie gleason (which is the title of this thread) is coming in June....Here's Lucy, season 1 was annnounced today, May 21, 2009 for August 25, 2009. All DVD's & CD's "drop" definition "are released" on Tuesdays! With the only major exception being The Beatles entire catalog will be re-released on Wednesday 9-9-09....only because this will be a major event for the declining CD industry and the #9 has significant historical importance to Beatles fans, but I digress.
