JamesG 05-15-2009, 08:28 AM SAW: The Video Game is due for a release on October 23, 2009; around the time of the theatrical release of SAW VI. It will be released on the PS3, XBOX360, and PC.
The game's premise takes place between SAW and SAW II and will focus on Detective Danny Tapp (Danny Glover) from SAW.

JamesG 06-03-2009, 11:08 PM E3: Tobin Bell Confirmed to Voice Saw: The Game
Wednesday, June 3, 2009
By: MrDisgusting
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced that actor Tobin Bell will extend his role as the infamous Jigsaw by voicing the iconic character in the upcoming video game adaptation of the most successful horror franchise in history - SAW. From the company that pioneered the survival horror genre, SAW is being developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. SAW will also be available via download on Windows PC. The game will be released this fall timed to Lionsgate's October 23 theatrical release of SAW VI.
Garnering two MTV Movie Award nominations and three consecutive Spike TV Scream Awards nominations for "Best Villain," and winning the Fuse/Fangoria Chainsaw Award for "Best Butcher," Bell's Jigsaw is widely regarded as one of cinema's most terrifying villains. His chilling and immediately recognizable voice is essential to the terror, because he rarely confronts his victims in person, preferring to communicate via recordings, speaking through a puppet named Billy. Jigsaw traps his victims in brutal mechanical devices and forces them to acknowledge the mistakes in their life while testing their resolve to live, usually with gruesome and deadly consequences.
"SAW fans are very vocal, and the one thing they've been shouting since we announced the game is that Tobin Bell absolutely must be the voice of Jigsaw," said David Daniels, Director of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "It never occurred to us to even try and make a SAW game without Tobin. His voice is one of those intangible elements that make a SAW movie feel like a SAW movie; so having him voice the game was crucial."
"We are so proud to see the SAW franchise extended through Konami's game, which captures the ethos of Jigsaw and the terror of being caught in one of his games with complete authenticity," added the films' producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules of Twisted Pictures.
Aubrey McClure, Lionsgate's Senior Vice President of Promotions and Licensing, agrees: "This partnership has been about assembling the perfect team to further immerse fans in the SAW universe in a way that feels organic. Tobin Bell, Twisted Pictures, and Konami have all been essential parts of that team with us and we are thrilled at the end result of this collaboration."
And, added the master of terror himself Tobin Bell, "I am so proud to have voiced Jigsaw in this game. I've been very impressed with mechanics of the game. It's terrifyingly smart and intriguing to me! It is a fitting follow-up to the tantalizing games of SAW."
Developed by Zombie Studios and based on the successful film franchise from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, SAW invites players to engage in a horrific game inside the treacherous corridors of an abandoned insane asylum that has been transformed into a gauntlet of terrors that Jigsaw alone controls. Players will match wits with Jigsaw as they fight to overcome his horrific traps and the mind-bending puzzles that have become synonymous with the SAW film series.
SAW will be released in North America this fall. For more information, please visit: www.konami.com/saw

Thanks for the video. This game looks like it's going to be great.
To me it looks like a cross between "Silent Hill" and "Manhunt".
browneyes106 08-06-2009, 08:32 PM Silent Hill was a really great game. I only played Manhunt a couple of times when I was staying with my cousin a couple of years ago. The Saw video game will be intense survival game. The part with the cadavers looks really intense and the xray feature looks cool.

I love the Silent Hill franchise. I've played 1-4.
I haven't played the one for the PSP, Origins, and the fifth one Homecoming.
The remake of the original is due for this October called Shattered Memories. I have to catch up on these.
Manhunt is awesome. It was one of the craziest games I've played on the PS2. I didn't get to play much of the sequel.
Yeah, SAW looks like it'll be great. I love what that dude said, "You have to cut your way through and see if they're alive or dead. If you choose wrong, well, you're a murderer."

JamesG 10-06-2009, 05:39 PM Dead Pixels Exclusive: Saw Interview!
Tuesday, October 6, 2009
By: BurnTheBlueSky
The SAW video game snuck up on us and is out today for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360! I thought it would be releasing with the next film at the end of the month, but they popped it out early.
However the PC version is said to be out on Halloween.
Head past the break for our interview with the games producer John Williamson. And stay tuned for an exclusive trap list for the game, which has not been published anywhere else!
How will the video game tie in to the movies?
We worked closely with James Wan and Leigh Wannel to outline the story and make sure it fit within the SAW universe.
The game takes place between the 1st and 2nd movie in the timeline of the SAW universe. We wrap up a few loose ends, expand on some characters from the first movie and as well as introduce some new characters.
Who will the main character be? Someone familiar? Do we play as ourselves? Or are we going to meet a new character for the game?
You play as Detective Tapp (Danny Glover). While he was shot, and stabbed in the first movie. Keep in mind, he is never shown dying in SAW 1 after being shot by Zep, he is however eulogized in the 5th movie.
Will there be any co-op or online multiplayer?
Survival Horror works best in a dark room, with surround sound, played alone.
Well put. Is there any downloadable content or expansions planned?
We want to get the game out first! Then we will see how the fans respond!
Will there be a demo released for download before the game is released to purchase?
No demo is planned at this time.
What stars/actors/actresses will be lending voices to the game?
The man himself, Tobin Bell dominates the game as Jigsaw. He contributed some final refinement to the lines and complimented us on our Jigsaw taunts.
When working on this game, did you look to any other horror games for inspiration?
Of course. We played a great many survival horror games across all platforms, from PSOne, to PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 as well as some Gamecube and DS games to boot.
Early previews have shown that our research has paid off, we captured not only what makes SAW SAW, but how to make modern survival horror game as well.
Will the game be using someone else’s game engine, or did you use your own?
We are using Unreal Engine 3. The same Engine used in Gears of War 2, and America's Army and dozens of other of your favorite games.
Using UE3 allows us to ship on all 3 SKUs (PC, PS3, 360) and by giving us a head start, allows us to focus on making the game, not drawing polygons.
What percentage is action and what percentage is puzzle?
The game is roughly 1/3 exploration, 1/3 combat, 1/3 puzzles/mini games.
How intricate will the puzzles be?
All the puzzles begin easy enough, but they get more difficult as the game progresses and you get closer to unraveling the mystery in this game.
We wanted to make sure that the game was accessible for SAW fans who may not be experienced survival horror players, but at the same time we wanted to craft a great survival horror game for survival horror fans.
SAW is also unique for a survival horror game in that it is based on the "real world." The enemies are not ghosts, or possessed kids, or dreams.
How did you implement the controls and gameplay with rumble functions and sixaxis(if at all)?
We use Sixaxis for the Balance Beam mechanic. It is a natural fit. Rumble is often used in cinematics to add a little extra drama and in combat and some mini games to provide additional feedback.
Where will the game take place? Different environments, or one big messed up place?
Det. Tapp finds himself awake in an abandoned asylum. He explores the hidden basement, low security wards, isolation wards, children's ward and more in his effort to finally confront Jigsaw once and for all.
What kind of different weapons will we get to fight with?
The best weapon the player is has is their own ability to think. There are quite a few enemies who can be destroyed by their own traps if the player uses them to their advantage.
Sometimes the player's best option is to run away and let the Asylum's inhabitants work it out on their own. The player can use molotovs, set traps, table legs, scalpels, and more to protect themselves.

browneyes106 10-07-2009, 03:45 PM I ordered this from Amazon I should get by Thursday. I'm exicited to play it this weekend.
JamesG 10-07-2009, 04:29 PM If any SAW fans want to know if the game explains anything on the fate of Dr. Gordon...
It does not reveal anything. He's not even mentioned.
JamesG 04-09-2010, 07:37 PM Teaser Trailer for Saw II Video Game
Friday, April 9, 2010
By: MrDisgusting
Fun for a few hours, I really hope that Zombie Studios and Konami put a little more effort in "Saw II", the forthcoming video game sequel that's being teased in the following trailer.
"Live or die, the choice is yours," is the tagline, yet the first game didn't really give you a choice. In fact, you couldn't change the outcome AT ALL.

JamesG 06-24-2010, 09:24 PM E3 2010: "SAW II: Flesh & Blood" Game Pics
June 24, 2010
by Lawrence Taylor
Following up on our previous "SAW II" E3 news that actor Tobin Bell would return to voice the character of Jigsaw in the upcoming video game sequel "SAW II: Flesh & Blood" we now have a few screen caps from our friends over at G4:
Following the success of the first "SAW" video game, "SAW II: Flesh & Blood" invites players back into Jigsaw's twisted world in an entirely new storyline that takes place between the first and second film.
This time around, players are put in the shoes of Detective Tapp's estranged son Michael, who has been captured by Jigsaw after betraying his father. As the game evolves, players will face mind-bending puzzles, as they navigate their way through Jigsaw's terrifying world, and defend themselves against his minions.
And of course, players must survive a new collection of stomach-twisting traps such as "Elevator Music," which chains victims to an elevator that will tear their bodies in half if they fail to solve three sets of puzzles before time runs out.
