That about sums it up... :lol: Dawn sucks and I have no idea how she still has a job.

Needs Comedies Block on Friday's TGIF.

This schedule actually sounds great - I wouldn't change a thing. I like Fridays, with One Tree Hill and Priviledged. That deserves a shot.

But really, does anyone care anymore? The only hit they have left is Top Model. I wouldn't be surprised to see The CW take after NBC and start airing Top Model 2 hours on Wednesdays :lol:

Not surprising, since the lady running the CW ran UPN. *SIGH* They are not going to raise ratings when they keep making the same kinds of shows for one kind of audience. When they get something different, there won't be much compatibility if they don't have other kinds of stuff like it. Smallville and Supernatural are the top scripted shows for the season. Not Gossip Girl. Not 90210. Not One Tree Hill. They should of kept Reaper and paired it with Vampire Diaries.

It's hard to know what even qualifies as a hit on the CW. Smallville and Supernatural are their best shows and they are probably entering their final seasons. Why not just fold The CW and return The WB?

The CW was an experiment that failed. It isn't working, and it never will. The WB, meanwhile, had double the ratings The CW had, and was a much stronger and stable network. Why they ever folded it in the first place is beyond me. We need family shows, and not these teen dramas.

Who is Dawn Ostroff

The CW made a huge mistake when the canceled 7th Heaven and Reba a few years ago. They were their highest rated shows and they have not recovered. They don't seem to know who their audience is and it is greatly affecting thier ability to properly schedule their time.

Instead of trying to figure out what audience they want they need to see what audience they had when they were doing better. They need yo go back after those people.

The problem that networks still have not realized is that young people are not watching TV. They are on the net. It is older people that are watching TV and the networks and advertisers need to start realizing this. It's no longer business as usual. The rating system that started in the late '60s no longer works.

Both "Melrose" and "Vampire" are on the verge of getting picked up, while "Beautiful Life," "Life Unexpected" and "Privileged" are battling for the last timeslot.

I agree. I don't know why they keep drawing it out - it should have ended 2 seasons ago at least.

It is their second highest rated show that's why.

Well if The CW doesn't have some drastic improvements this season Smallville won't have to be canceled, the network will be canceled. :lol: I'm serious, it may not see Fall 2010 if all it's new shows fail. All it's "hits" are old and they continue to only focus on a very small segment of the viewing audience, teenage girls. They cannot survive like that and they continue to alienate the rest of their viewers.

Dawn Ostroff should have been fired forever ago and why she hasn't is the biggest mystery of TV today. I still cannot figure out why Top Model has been leading into a lame 90210 repeat for the past 2 months. It's their top rated show(that actually beats some of the shows on the big 4 on Wednesday at 8 in demos), and it's a completely wasted lead-in. Not to mention the dumb repeat on Friday and now the giving away of Sundays(which has been an epic disaster from Day 1).

I just now read this post and totally agree. One Tree Hill, Smallville, Supernatural, and even Gossip Girl aren't going to last forever. When those are gone, which seem to be the main shows (well, Top Model too), I think it will definately fold.

This is a dumb question, but is there a set date yet for when The CW Sundays will cease to exist? I guess my affiliate will air movies like Saturday nights. My local CW affiliate has most of the big syndicated shows of the late 80s-2000s so if CW were to fold, I doubt they would be in any jeopardy.

A lot of CW affiliates have picked up the MGM Movie Showcase for Sundays in the fall.

What a dumb schedule. Still a repeat even with Sundays gone. I believe this will be the schedule tomorrow.

I think OTH should go to Fridays, VD to Mondays, Smallville stays on Thursdays, and Melrose/90210 flip(90210 is way too weak to be a lead-in).

They started the season earlier than the other networks. If they're going to do this then they better order more episodes. You can't have repeats airing in January and February while the other networks have original episodes airing. It seemed like 90210 was always in repeats at the beginning of the year and they lost viewers. Soaps do not repeat well either. The original 90210 and MP and even the 1980's soaps like Dallas and KL would have about 30 episodes a season. That way they stayed fresh all year long.
