Once upon a time, someone started a thread on the "Cheers" page of this site saying that he thought that that show was depressing. My feelings about that series is that I have seen better and I have seen worse. In any event, a bunch of people have offered their words of wisdom about the subject. The number of responses is well into the twenties! The last few responses took place within the past twenty-four hours. Like with most posts on boards like this, people compared the sereis to other shows that they like or dislike. I was very surprised about some of the things that some people said that they do not like about "Mad About You"! It was my favorite show for the vast majority of its original run! I really wish that they would put more episodes on DVD! In one response, one guy referred to another as a Nancy Boy for likeing this series. I strongly disagree with that point of view! I consider myself nothing like a Nancy Boy and I am crazy about this show! Granted I am not a lumberjack or a professional football player. However, I like to bowl, I enjoy Super-Heroe moives and a few weekends ago, I won a Silver Medal in a Bocce Tournament. What do other fans think of any of these observations?

Every one is different. It took me a long time to like the show. I practically had to force myself.

I think Cheers fans are like fans of all tv show's. When someone says they dislike the show, they come to it's defense. It took me awhile before I started to like the show. When it first came on the air, I'd make fun of it. I didn't watch it that much in the beginning. I only started to watch it after Kirstie Alley joined the cast and then I watch it for the rest of it's run. I felt that the show became more of an ensemble after that. Before that, it was the Sam and Diane Show. I didn't care much for Mad About You but my sister used to love that show. Different people like different things though. Hey I used to love Full House and it seems like that get's a lot of bashing too.

I am very happy to see that at least one of my posts managed to stimulate some conversation! Now if only I could convince more people to make noise about wanting to see more seasons come to DVD!
