ABC has given an early thumbs-up to Modern Family, a new comedy from Back to You executive producers Christopher Lloyd and Steve Levitan, Variety is reporting. The network has ordered 13 episodes of the sitcom, which follows three families through a movie maker's eyes. The show stars Ed O'Neill (John from Cincinnati) and Julie Bowen (Boston Legal) and will debut this fall.

That's great news, and early for an ABC pickup. While the concept sounds intriguing, the "mockumentary" format, which I cannot stand, throws me off. I'll definitely tune into the pilot, though.

Too bad they just couldn't have brought everyone back for another season of Back To You on ABC, but I guess this is the next best thing. :cool:
