Since I received a digital camera for my birthday. Photography has become a hobby of mine; one of my favorite subjects to take pictures of is towns or cities in the Southern California area. But I am running out of cities to take photographs of (in San Diego and South Orange County region). What cities should I take pictures of next? It could be anywhere in the Southern California section from San Diego to Los Angeles...thanks, for your in put:wave:

Wish I could help you Tara, but since I've never been to Cali, I don't know the State that well at all, so I have no idea. I'm sure wherever your photography journey leads you, that you will get more amazing pictures. I always love seeing what new pics you've taken on Myspace, and on the Random Picture thread!! :)

Tara are you into older houses or historical sites??? I always think those make great pictures.

How about Catalina Island. I'm guessing there would be a lot of beautiful scenery there.

Hollywood gets my vote too.

Laguna Woods!!

here are some ideas:
-hollywood (during the day and at night, since the two are worlds apart)
-venice beach
-zuma
-i don't know why the name is escaping me for some reason, but there's a street in hollywood you can drive up and there's a park at the top with a GORGEOUS view. i've been there before and the view is to die for. the only is they close the gate at 6. but you can also see the hollywood sign from up there. do you know where i'm talking about? i can't believe i'm forgetting the name!
-top of topanga, on topanga cyn. it's about five/ten minutes into the drive (from the valley to the beach) and it's got some great shots of the valley. gorgeous at night.
the other end of topanga, towards the 118 has some gorgeous views as well.
-sb
-on the way up to sb, there's some secluded beaches as well. very pretty during the sunset and it's not filled with people.
-old town sd
-olvera street in la
-downtown la, near fashion district. maybe some pictures of the vendors/markets over there?

I am curious? Why Laguna Woods. You did piqued my interest, since I am familiar with Aliso Viejo (which is near by). So I drove up to Laguna Woods, and it is tiny, and really not a lot to see, except for a gold course. The town looked like a retirement community.

Catalina is gorgeous, but unfortunately, it is a long boat ride from Long Beach; and I am afraid that I am going to become seasick.

San Onofre State Beach is gorgeous; but you need to pay for parking; but, I do have a California State Beach pass that allows me access to all of the state beaches in the state. I will look into it; thanks for the suggestion:)

Take the 5 freeway and exit El Toro Rd, (turn right if you are heading from the north) and left, well you get the picture. Drive up about a block (heading west) and you will find yourself, smack dab, right in the middle of the town...Does your honey play golf? There is a moderate size golf course in Laguna Woods? Maybe you will find him there?

I have not the slightest idea - but having had done business with people from Laguna Woods, I do know that El Toro Road is the main road there - about 5 miles long, I've been told.
