It'll be nice to have another Sony show completed on DVD (I got 'I Dream Of Jeannie' completed last July). Season 8 has the Europe episodes, which are good in my opinion.

Wow, hard to believe that they're at the end now (with the exception of the complete series set, which I think is set for release around Christmas). Neat cover, by the way.

Another Show completed by Sony! I will definitely be right at the Barnes & Noble (or Target) to get my copy! And see if I can snag the 2nd, 3rd and 4th seasons of "Charlie's Angels". Or maybe the complete series of "Sanford & Son".

Let's hope Sony also releases the 3rd (and final) season of The Flying Nun. Gregory Sierra (:eyes:) guested in 4 episodes!!

It's good news about the release of season eight even though it is a very poor season and really a bad end to such a wonderful series. It will be nice to have the complete series though.

Yes what has happened to that final third season of "The Flying Nun"? Why is it taking so long to get a release?

Hardly, I'm sure most informed "Bewitched" fans realise that season eight (although very welcome on DVD finally!) is a very poor end to the series, Recycled stories, very few of the regular supporting cast even appearing and the "European episodes" never once leaving the studio. Elizabeth for the most part is playing Samantha very differently to earlier seasons and it was a shame the series didn't finish at the end of season seven. It's is good for all us "Bewitched" completists to finally get the whole series of DVD though

Well the show did end with a whimper and not a band but regardless, Liz was still looking good :happyface :happyface

I've read in the past that Erin Murphy took a tour of the Warner (old Columbia) Ranch where the Bewitched exteriors had been filmed to be included as an extra to a future Bewitched season box set. Is there any word to what happened to that extra? There will be no future seasons after this one where it could be included.

Its probably going to be in the complete box set, which has already been released in Japan. Personally I stopped buying after season 4 because I read somewhere that Erin Murphy had done some stuff for the complete series set, and I figured I'm going to want it, and didn't want to be stuck with getting rid of duplicate dvds.

Well as I have stated once and again and will again......I'm not buying the complete series set. It is a slap to all of us faithul fans who bought each season and then they will do this and then offer extras. So ptooey!!!! :p

Sony did the same with "NewsRadio." Every season was released with only Portuguese subtitles. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

I'm also excited about owning the final season of this classic sitcom. Even though it's best years are already available (you know, the Dick York years), I'm still very eager to complete my collection and watch these final episodes, which I have never seen before.

Actually all Knowledgeable & Informed fans of Bewitched see the 8th Season based on merit & not through the poisoned eyes of Bias & Prejudice.

They see on their TV Screens an excellent end to the show of High Quality & Substance & we should all be grateful that the show did Not end after Season 7 but instead came back for another fine year of Bewitched at its finest.

One thing that is extremely clear is that Elizabeth never changed her characterisation of Samantha in Season 8 & how she was portrayed, Bewitched Bothered & Baldoni, 3 men & a witch on a horse, the Henry the VIII 2 parter, A Plague on Maurice & Samantha, Sisters at Heart & the final episode are good examples of how Samantha was to the end the same enchanting, Lovely, Sweet & Wonderful Character that she had been through the previous 7 seasons, she was no different in any way in Season 8.

In the previous 2 seasons the roles of Darrins Parents, The Kravitz's & even Uncle Arthur had shrunk to about an ep. per season as they had simply done all they could with them in the prior years, rather then be repetitive they instead brought in new original & refreshing Guest stars in their stead to give the show a unique creative infusion.

So this was a good thing not a bad thing, furthermore all this recycled episode talk is a much ado about nothing.

The recycling point is of limited impact in my view as that has been overblown & exaggerated to the extreme, to the point that almost if Sam twitched her nose it is called a remake.

Or if an episode evolves Spells on Darrin or Transformations of Darrin,Witch Disease for Samantha, Going back in time, Historical Figures brought to the Present or Client Episodes it is called a remake.

This of course is just not so.
These were in affect sub-premises of the main premise of the show and nothing like a remake.

Even the remakes were turned around to such an extent that they were merely similar yet different episodes in of themselves with over 95% of the dialogue being new & different from the earlier versions.

In reality there were remakes as early as season two & evolved 2 per season in seasons,3,4,5 & 3 per seasons 6,7,8 until the last 3 or 4 episodes of season 8, hardly the all or almost all of the episodes that the later years or in Season 8 are claimed to have been remakes.

What I accept are facts that are clearly visible to one, not criticisms of the show that have no bearing in reality or existence in the show, saying it so does not make it so when the facts show clearly otherwise.

No show made by mortal man is perfect or flawless, but nor is it flawed in a way when the facts as such are misrepresented and inaccurate.

It is what it is & is not what it is not.

What it was is a show that remained true to it's fundamental premise & did not stray from it, this does not constitute a series of overused plot devices.

Yes I was wondering about that Erin Murphy tour as well. I thought it was going to be appearing on the season seven box set but that didn't happen. I've seen photos of her doing the tour so it defintely has been filmed. I hope at some stage it sees the light of day. it's a pity Erin didn't have more to do with commentaries, interviews etc on all the "Bewitched" DVD's

It's a shame there weren't more extras, PERIOD, in the individual season releases. ohno:

I saw on hometheatreforum.com that the complete series box set came out in December 2007 in Japan. It includes all 8 seasons, the Tabitha series, the theatrical movie, plus extras, which is probably the Erin Murphy material. I would imagine the US box set would be the same.

Thanks!

I never knew that Liz wore her own clothes. I did like it when she wore
the red slacks and the pink button down top in some episodes I think from the 3rd or 4th season. It's been awhile since I've seen those seasons
on my Bewitched DVDs.
