View Full Version : Wonder if Sony will now release the next season of Maude so that fans can TVFactFan 05-03-2009, 03:17 PM pay a tribute to Bea Arthur in their home by seeing what a great actress she as like Anchor Bay when John Ritter passed. Maybe Bea's passing will generate enough interest that more Maude gets released to DVD. A lot of the younger generation has seen Golden Girls, but not Maude (or very little Maude). I've seen the first season - I want to see more!! TVFactFan 05-03-2009, 04:22 PM I hope so. Maybe Bea's passing will generate enough interest that more Maude gets released to DVD. It annoys me that WE or Lifetime or Hallmark or Oxygen won't pick up MAUDE. Why pick up one bea arthur show that was a hit and not the other? catlover79 05-03-2009, 04:26 PM It annoys me that WE or Lifetime or Hallmark or Oxygen won't pick up MAUDE. Your guess is as good as mine, Sol. McGillicuddy 05-04-2009, 09:30 PM I'm guessing (and hoping) sony will release season 2 of Maude, and remaining seasons of All in the Family and The Jeffersons following the release of the Norman Lear Box set. It would make sense to me! kravitzfan12 05-05-2009, 07:53 PM Maybe Bea's passing will generate enough interest that more Maude gets released to DVD.Season 1 of Maude has been in Amazon's top 10 comedy box-set sales since the day she died, and only today slipped to #17! It's on back order for 1 - 3 weeks! That's INCREDIBLE! If Sony doesn't see the interest now... well then they never will! McGillicuddy 05-05-2009, 08:18 PM And the Intimate Portrait Collection for the 4 Golden Girls is out of print and is selling for 100.00 on Amazon! OOliver 05-07-2009, 06:17 PM If I recall correctly, the last time MAUDE aired on television was on TVLand years ago. I wonder if there is any licensing snafu in which the other networks have not picked it up (Lifetime, WE, Hallmark - though I can't see this show playing on Hallmark, to be honest with you) and/or why the other seasons were never released on DVD? catlover79 12-28-2009, 04:42 AM Wow! You're right - if Sony doesn't get the picture now, they never will. ...and it looks like they haven't. Bea's been gone for almost 8 months now, and still no new release.
