If you were president of Lorimar Television, how would you have handled things? If I was president of Lorimar Television, I would have taken a personal hand in creating and developing the show and I would have hired Frank Dungan and Jeff Stein as showrunners and Jeffrey Ferro and Fredric Weiss as head writers. That way, none of the casting and story problems would ever happen. In addition, I would have had them stop production after either the 4th or 5th season to avoid jumping the shark, and I would have allowed all of the cast to at least contribute ideas for storylines. Also, I would have it set in Beaver Falls, instead of Chicago, in order to do crossovers with Mr. Belvedere and I would have introduced viewers to Laura and Judy on Perfect Strangers and then I would have had them carry over to Family Matters.

Well I would've kept the show moretrue to the title. It would have been about the Winslow family. I would have kept all of the original characters and wouldn't have added any new ones. I would still have had Steve on it, but he would not have been in every episode, and in the episodes he would be in, he would not always have his own plot. I may have made him a main cast member in season four, but not before that. And when he was a main cast member I still wouldnt have him dominate the show. I wouldve let the show run as long as it could, and make sure it would not jump the shark. Each cast member would have had an equal amount of lines and plots each season. And Judy woud have been completely developed.

I don't know, Rebafan1. Steve was a great character. He deserved his spotlight. I agree with you about Judy though.

He wouldve gotten the spotlight. But not as much, and given the other characters more storylines, especially Judy.
