All over this board, I have been posting messages about how quiet all of the pages except for the "Golden Girls" have been lately. The only explanation that I can think of is that that page is monopolizing the attention of the vast majority of posters. The posts on that page will not stop pouring in! As most of you probably know, actress Bea Arthur passed away this past Saturday. Once I read about it, I responded to the thread that informed me of it and offered my condolences. As a way of honoring her, I abstained from any more posting for the rest of that day. However, since then, I have gone all over the board trying to stimulate some conversation about some of these other fine sereis! No luck! Less than an hour ago, I looked at the "Golden Girls" page and saw that the thread about the death had ninety responses! I then went to the "Gimme a Break!" page to tell my buddies there about it. I have since checked that page over and it had two views and zero responses. On the previously mentioned thread on the "Golden Girls" the number was still ninety. However, since then someone started a new thread on that page. This was about an event that will take place at eight o'clock tonight. The marquees in New York will be tunred off for exactly one minute in honor of her. One thing that I cannot help wondering about is whether, after people are finally able to put this experiences behind them, these other pages will be getting some action!

I'm sure they will. This always happens when a beloved actor or actress passes away.

I actually signed up with SO right after John Ritter passed away (hence, my screen name). You'll also notice a lot of new members who joined because of Bea's passing (as happened when John passed).

I would think in less than a week you'll see more activity on the other boards as well. Right now, people are responding to memories of Bea's characters. You'll notice the activity on the Maude board has also picked up because of this.

You have offered me some very interesting observations! One thing that I realize that I never mentioned when I started this thread was the name of my thread on the "Gimme a Break!" page. It is called, "90 Posts and Counting". I have since checked it again and the number of views was still standing at two. I would be very interested in what you think of it!
