Just thought I'd share the news about this freebie with the board.
http://www.digitalcity.com/2009/04/27/kfc-free-chicken-day-today-is-was-april-27-09/
KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken (or apparently now Kentucky Grilled Chicken) is giving away a free piece of their new grilled chicken today to customers.
No coupon is necessary - just show up at a KFC near you (http://www.when.com/search?kids=&st=venue&swhat=kfc) and ask for your chicken. The legalese on the Unthink KFC (http://www.unthinkkfc.com/) site says the offer is at participating KFCs and the piece (leg, breast, etc.) is chosen by the manager. It's good to see KFC finally offer grilled-chicken that has made chains like El Pollo Loco popular. It remains to be seen if promoting Kentucky Grilled Chicken ends up being a branding nightmare considering all of the money they've spent over the years promoting "KFC" removing "Kentucky" and "Fried" from the name.
Fried chicken is still heavenly, but if you're looking for a healthier alternative, grilled chicken is where it's at ... and now it's at a KFC.
