Help me out with this please,

I just watched this episode on DVD and it is complete and uncut, running over 25 minutes. I am examining the scene with Alice and Sam in the kitchen. Sam comes in to the kitchen and Alice says, "Hey, watch it with that meat cleaver, you don't have to prove you're a butcher." But I am looking at the scene and I cannot see anything in Sam's hand that would cause Alice to say this line. Than after they make some more small-talk, Alice says something like, "I'll be alright, soon as I get this thing in a cast." Is Sam holding something in his hand that I am not seeing? Could this be a continuity error where the script might have had him holding a meat cleaver, but they took out that prop, and mistakenly left the line in? Something is illogical about that scene and dialog. And even if Sam was holding a meat cleaver in the Brady kitchen, why? Alice's lines make no sense.

You're being too literal! "Meat cleaver" refers to Sam's hand. He had grabbed
her on the back of the shoulder and the idea is that he had grabbed her too hard. If he had been mechanic, she might have said "pliers."
