Does anyone remember that journalist in the early years of Night Court? Craven was his name and he would always be in the court room trying to dig up dirt for a sensational story. Does anyone know when his last appearance on the show was?

Yes. Craven was full of win, but he didn't last for very long, only during seasons 1 and 2. There really was no clear explanation as to why he was always trying to destroy Harry's career, other than he was an irritant around the courthouse. I think his last episode may have been the madam ep.

Terry Kiser ("Weekend at Bernie's") played Craven to a tee...it's a shame he didn't reappear after season two.

Kiser's fourth and final appearance as Al Craven was indeed season two's "Harry and the Madam," ekkostar.

Awesome! I love your avatar!
I also wish that Terry Kiser had remained a recurring guest star (as snoopy, and sleazy, tabloid reporter Al Craven) on "Night Court" for the remainder of its run. Kiser and Richard "Bull" Moll had incredible chemistry together...I still chuckle every time Bull threatens to tear Craven a new assh**e whenever Craven poked his nose way too far into the shenanigans that ensued nightly in Harry's courtroom. Had Craven remained a recurring character, it would've been a delight to see Selma, Flo, and (especially) Roz put Craven in his place.
