I love ordering food...I wish McDonalds and Krispy Kreams/Dunkin Donuts did this & delivered haha. I always order a pizza and side online- Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Dominoes or a local place that delivers, not just a franchise etc. Do you, and where at, what do you like to order- what's your favorite order? And do ou do it a lot. I know I and Americans get lazy haha, so having to talk to people to order food now is eliminated as well lol, with ordering online :).

I love Domino's order tracker! It's so neat watching it move on to the next stage. :D Too bad their pizza sucks, though.

I've done it many times before... I actually prefer that method now. It's been such a huge blessing for me. I can see right there what is offered, what I'd want on my pizza & which side (if applicable) I want it on and if I want double of said topping.

I have the easiest order in the world, though... I order from Pizza Hut a lot, and I love getting their stuffed crust with regular cheese and regular sauce on it. Ta-da! Ready in ~12 minutes, pretty much. lol.

Dominoes pizza is frozen, simple & small- yet I love their pizza lol. And their prices are OUTRAGEOUS most of all lol. a pizza with a soda and a side, with toppings is $23.08 including tax and delivery charge at Papa John's- the same order is over $26 at Dominoes, not including tipping the delivery man. Ridiculous!!!

I think Pizza Hut is about as pricey as that. Not sure... I don't order sides or drinks when I order out, though. I THINK when I just get a stuffed crust pizza with cheese and nothing else, it's about $14 before taxes (since their stuffed crust pizza only comes in a size large). Then it goes to $17 with tax. Then I throw in the tip, usually $3, bringing that total up to $20.

But, $26 BEFORE everything else... Ouch.

that's still pretty pricy for a pizza lol...even if it's taxes & delivery included..

i don't know what it compares to pizza hut...i like all 3 but dominoes is the worst...they don't have as much offers or as big of a menu, they're more pricy & it's frozen pizza lol.....yet again I still love it somehow lol.

This place nearby, not a franchise pizza like the other 3, delivers and is pretty good....they have great pizza too.

I tried ordering online, but I must have been doing something wrong because I had a hard time finishing the order. The time it took me to do this, I could've just called them in half the time!!

Every once in a while I order somethings online. Maybe a Honeybaked Ham for the holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and etc.

that sucks. you basically just give them your address and phone number, or log in if you have an account like I do...then go over the menu, click on what you want, and it should have an option- add to order....then once you add everything you want, their should be a button that says checkout, on the side or up top, you click on that, check to see if everything is right on your order, then click "place order>." During checkout, it will ask if you want to pay by coupons, cash or credit card etc.

Take the example of Subway. It takes a lot of time to order on the website, and you don't have the opportunity to watch them prepare it (a little more mayo, please).

Just as easy to go in and order there, most of the time. I put in the qualifier because there's always the possibility of getting behind someone ordering from a list of 5 sandwiches.

Picking up the phone and giving a person an order is about gone, some companies still hang on to that old way of talking to a real person, but it's going going gone.....And in the 13 yrs since this thread started, so so many of our great stores are gone to the digital designers!!!!

I no longer drive and when my friends can't get something I need I have to order online...just got a new teapot from ebay today. I needed one and it came just fine...

All prepared food has gone up and delivery just makes it TOO costly for me, so I just forget it and cook what I want. Sometimes a friend here will get me a Panda "fix" when I ask and tjhat
s usually once a month.

Oh and since the virus, inflation has gone thru the roof.

I may order online via http through the restaurant's website via my browser. In fact it's kind of convenient being able to order at Pizza Hut and specify "Pick up at 3:30 PM tomorrow", tying it in with a shopping trip.

BUT I absolutely will not use someone's "app" on my hardware. My privacy is too valuable.

Kroger is really starting to tick me off the way they are taking discounts that used to be available to everyone, and now offering them only as "digital coupons" that you have to use their app to redeem.

One of the guys on my radio programs went off on how Kroger and Albertsons etc have raised prices so much and he was talking specifically eggs, and then went on to say Trader Joe's has not done much price increases....The rich want more and more, TJ's does a good job, but no deliveries here....I miss being able to go there.

I rarely, if ever, purchase anything online. I actually like to physically buy things (in person) at stores.

One of the guys on my radio programs went off on how Kroger and Albertsons etc have raised prices so much

This is a little off topic, but Kroger has gotten completely out of hand.

20 years ago I bought nearly all my groceries there. They had cyclic sales that you could get into rhythm with, knowing that particular products were going to be on sale every 4 or 5 weeks. and the discounted prices made economic sense. Kroger's list prices have NEVER made sense.

Now it's list prices most of the time, with periodic digital coupons, requiring an app. I just won't do it....so Krogers effectively told me that they didn't want my business anymore.

I also noticed that on certain 'Hi-demand' products that were frequently sold out even before the pandemic, Krogers has raised the price on those items so high that almost no one even buys them there anymore...so the shelf now sits completely filled ( I guess there must be a big labor savings there?) ....until the store drops the item completely because it has become a "poor seller".

Such genius, they turned an $2.49 item they sold out on continuously, into a $3.39 item they discontinued for lack of sales.

Subway is one where I will almost always order online. The line gets super busy at lunchtime and it's so much easier picking it up off their shelf rather than wasting half of my lunch hour waiting in line. It also doesn't take that much time to order on the app/website, and you can also save your favorite orders for easy ordering in the future.

As indicated in this thread, Kroger stores are pricing themselves up & away from being competitive. A little example, the last time I bought one of their Kroger brand ready-made pie crusts, it was under $1.25. Now it's priced well over, so I buy name-brand ones from Dollar Tree at $1.25.

Even with the coupons they send me by mail, oftentimes I'll easily find better prices elsewhere on foods that are equally good -- or better.

Everything is out of control....I guess all part of the New Reset.
