View Full Version : The Yankees get SPANKED and hard, by Indians- 22-4...Clev.- 14 in an inning!!!!!!!!!!
Wreckless 04-19-2009, 01:25 AM Unbelievable lol.
22-4, the third highest runs given up by the Yankees in their franchise. Interesting because the highest runs an opponent has scored vs. the NYY, the top 4 teams are all Cleveland lol.
Wang had another sloppy and horrible start...his ERA this season is something in the 30s- lol...
Nobody could stop the bleeding- it was pretty funny....
Brian, Solomon...Monika & MrCleveland....what are ur thoughts on this game and the 2 teams so far this season?
One thing I wanna say, the Yanks can't buy pitching if their lives depended on it but it's still early lol.
22-4 in the new stadium....... let it sit in
catlover79 04-19-2009, 01:28 AM Here's my thoughts in a nutshell:
Marvo301 04-19-2009, 01:28 AM It just goes to prove the team with the highest payroll doesn't always win!!!
Darren J. 04-19-2009, 01:29 AM No words can describe how pathetic this is. I've been saying for awhile that Wang is overrated. The only reason he's pushing 20 wins is because of the Yankees' offense. Put him on a team like Oakland or Toronto, and he's winning no more than 10 games.

I totally agree with you Darren.
He doesn't even have great stuff, or pitches that make you go "oh wow, that was crazy" or make you unbelieved. I'm bored when I've seen nationally televised games with him pitching lol.

Is Manny coming back??!

He throws breaking balls and has to because he has little velocity. He rarely strikes batters out and his pitches usually result in groundouts and pop ups. If his curveball or sinker hangs just a little bit, he gets rocked. He's always mentioned in Cy Young talks because he wins 18-19 games, but Johan Santana rarely gets mentioned because he has 10 no-decisions.

Well the Muts give him no run support, that's why....
but yeah, dumba$$ steinbrunner was crying cause the NL doesn't have a DH like the AL does., and Wang got hurt hitting in an NL park last year..yeah well, big deal. you have all the money in the world and you bitch and moan over the stupidest little things, so do something about it!!

I remember watching the clip where he got hurt and still can't figure out he got hurt.
catlover79 04-19-2009, 01:44 AM Is Manny coming back??!
I doubt it, but weirder things have happened - especially here in Cleveland.

I hope he does- just for you lol.
Yea, he said he wanted to come back the other day, a typical Manny being Manny moment lol, and I wanted to put it out their, asking anyway.....
He's a great, complete player so wherever he stays or whatever team he ends up with, they will be 10x times better with him, and privileged...

It sure would bring big business back to downtown Cleveland - sales would be up, and by and large that one move would help our local ecomony. So we shall see!!

the question is- would they need him?
22 runs today...
MrCleveland 04-19-2009, 05:33 PM The Tribe sure spanked the Damn Yankees.
Is there a curse in the New Yankee Stadium?
Wreckless 04-19-2009, 05:37 PM God I hope their is, MrCleveland lol. Imagine if they lost like this, every day, evey season for 100 years.
Pavan 04-19-2009, 05:39 PM One game is nothing. Yanks won today 7-3. Other than Wang, the Yankees are looking good.

Well, the Indians did drop today's game - maybe they were too exhausted from the madcap scoring from yesterday.

Well, Pav, we can agree on one thing - we both hate the Red Sox.
Wreckless 04-19-2009, 05:41 PM Yeah, Pavanbadel is a Yankees fan though lol....
Indians had to be tired from yesterday  lol...
Big C 04-19-2009, 05:42 PM This new Yankee Stadium is looking like a hitter's ballpark, IMO- a place that is good for hitters and not good for pitchers, a place where runs, hits, and homers can skyrocket.
Wrecky probably knows about this- IMO, Citizens Bank Park is one of the best stadiums for offense and hitting, a hitter-friendly ballpark.
Wreckless 04-19-2009, 05:46 PM CBP is the best park, period.
Pavan 04-19-2009, 06:00 PM But you're a Phillies fan, lol, so why would you NOT think that?? The only way to determine what ballpark is the best is to GO to each park.

Very true lol.
But their are a lot of NYY fans in North Jersey, so I'm not surprised that you are a fan of them, so it's cool.
MrCleveland 04-19-2009, 06:06 PM The worst place to play is probably Wrigley Field.
Because of the strong winds and sunshine, it makes the Cubs games a little frustrating.

Very true. Shea Stadium was the worst ever though lol. Citi Field isn't much better. That corny little apple is still their  .
