What was the deal with Sophia laughing outloud in later seasons and going "HO!"...??

She did that in an episode where Gloria visits and in some other episodes. I never did understand what was so funny about her going "HO!"

I know when she did it on the premiere of Golden Palace, it was a crack on Blanche. She meant "whoe", I think she did that when she "chaperoned" Blanche on her date with the guy in the wheelchair also.
