I'll start:

"In space, no one can you hear scream"

Quotes can be from the movie dialog or from the advertising of it.

But let's not make hard, obscure quotes--we want everyone to enjoy playing it. This isn't Jeopardy!

I amending this game to also include quotes from a movie so it will make it easier for everyone to play, so be either tagline from the trailer or a quote from the movie, let's play. And try not pick something so obscure (unlike my user name!) that noone can get it.

"The power of Christ compels you!"

From one of my favorite movies -

The Godfather

I'd rather do familiar quotes rather than taglines, if that's OK. I'm better at that.

Excuse me while I whip this out

Jude The Obscure
04-27-2009, 08:09 PM
That's fine, Phoebe....just hope someone knows the answer to yours, because I don't

In case, no one gets it, here's a simple one to answer:

"Luke, I am your father!"

You're probably better at movie taglines than quotes.

It's from Blazing Saddles. It's said by Cleavon Littles's character. He's the sheriff and he says to the townspeople, Excuse me..., and he reaches in his pants. The people shriek and he pulls out his gun.

Another cheap Mel Brooks joke!!

I can think of others but alot of them are too easy!!

phoebe7165
04-27-2009, 08:24 PM
OK, I had to look up some taglines -

"They'll never get caught, they're on a mission from God."

Jude The Obscure
04-27-2009, 08:29 PM
The Blues Brothers?

and i'm good at both, but sometimes I have a brain fart

I finally watched Blazzing Saddles a few months ago, so the quote was familiar but not enough since i haven't watched it a lot :)

We maybe the only two playing this so feel free--make it easy LOL

And here's one:

"Go ahead, make my day" :D

Phew, canine cologne!!

You'll probably get this one -

^ that sounds familiar........hmmmmmm, is it Wayne's World? (BTW, I have NEVER seen it LOL)

Here's some from anothe fave:

"Listen, I have a gun in my purse and I'll use it. If you make one false move, I'll change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot!"

"I thought it was Skinny and Sweet. It looks the same, except for the skull and cross bones on the box"

^ that sounds familiar........hmmmmmm, is it Wayne's World? (BTW, I have NEVER seen it LOL)

Oh yeah? I saw WW in the theater, too. It's also one of my "filler" movies. That's what I call movies that I've seen many times but when it shows on TV, I'll leave it on, especially if there's nothing else I'm interested in watching. I don't sit there & watch it, I'll do other things though.

And yes, it was WW.

Here's some from anothe fave:

"Listen, I have a gun in my purse and I'll use it. If you make one false move, I'll change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot!"

"This is the office of our boss, Frankin W. Hart. But to me, he'll always be F.Hart"

O--M--G!!!!! How did you know??

9 to 5 is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE movies!!! That's another "filler" movie! It was just on AMC a couple weeks back, and of course, had it on!!

So many great lines in that movie!!

A few of my faves:

Roz:Violet, did you get my memo?
Violet:Yes, I tore right through it!

another
Doralee:You steal the wrong body from the hospital and all you can say is you must have made a mistake?!!
Violet:It could happen to anyone!

I love Lily Tomlin, especially as Violet!!

Another thing about this movie, is now, everytime I'm with my sister and we see a car that has a taillight out, one of us will say "They got a short in the trunk".

Yes, I know, we're a sad pair!!

OK, enough of that!!:D

Movie quote -

How about NO, you crazy Dutch bastard!!

9 to 5 is an all time fave with me....saw it so many times on TV, bought the VHS and finally last year the DVD.

It's from Goldmember, another fave. Dr. Evil says it to Goldmember.

Looks like only you and me are playing this......boy, it is fun to me!

Fine by me!! It's nice to know somebody who is on the same "wavelength" when it comes to pop culture. I don't see that too often. The only other people who I know who are like that is my sister & brother, and my friend, Denise, but she lives in Indiana.

Another one -

It was the Dukes, it was the Dukes!!

Jude The Obscure
05-06-2009, 03:02 PM
Well, gee, give me time to breathe, girl!

I never got around to seeing Goldmember (saw the other two though)

In the meantime....

"When Cameron was in Egypt's land, let my Cameron go!"
"Oh by the way, Mr. Rooney, you dropped your wallet in our kitchen"
"He's missed school 9 times......"

Next quote

Fogell: Yo guys! Sup?
Seth: Fogell, where have you been, man? You almost gave me a goddamn heart attack. Let me see it. Did you ***** out or what?
Fogell: No noooo, man. I got it; it is flawless. Check it!
Evan: [examining the fake ID] Hawaii. All right, that's good. That's hard to trace, I guess. Wait... you changed your name to... McLovin?
Fogell: Yeah.
Evan: McLovin? What kind of a stupid name is that, Fogell? What, are you trying to be an Irish R&B singer?
Fogell: Naw, they let you pick any name you want when you get down there.
Seth: And you landed on McLovin...
Fogell: Yeah. It was between that or Muhammed.
Seth: Why the **** would it be between THAT or Muhammed? Why don't you just pick a common name like a normal person?
Fogell: Muhammed is the most commonly used name on Earth. Read a ****ing book for once.
Evan: Fogell, have you actually ever met anyone named Muhammed?
Fogell: Have YOU actually ever met anyone named McLovin?
Seth: No, that's why you picked a dumb ****ing name!
Fogell: **** you.
Seth: Gimme that. All right, you look like a future pedophile in this picture, number 1. Number 2: it doesn't even have a first name, it just says "McLovin"!
Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called ****ing strategy, all right?
Evan: Stay calm, okay? Let's not lose our heads. It's... it's a fine ID; it'll... it's gonna work. It's passable, okay? This isn't terrible. I mean, it's up to you, Fogell. This guy is either gonna think 'Here's another kid with a fake ID' or 'Here's McLovin, a 25 year-old Hawaiian organ donor'. Okay? So what's it gonna be?
Fogell: [grinning] ... I am McLovin!
Seth: No you're not. No one's McLovin. McLovin's never existed because that's a made up dumb ****ING FAIRY TALE NAME, YOU ****!
