CBS DVD has done a fantastic job with the releases of the Beverly Hillibillies and Petticoat Junction complete seasons with nostalgic extras! Why was My 3 Sons, from the same era, being handled so differently? Why wasn't the first season all one set? Why no extras? This show ran for 12 years, and at the rate they're releasing it, will take 12 or 15 years to get the entire series done.

When they handle shows this way, I'm not as excited to rush and buy it, as I was when Hillbillies hits the store shelves.

Yeah me too, but they did quite a few episodes the first season is probably why it came out in two volumes. That said they still could have made this in one package.


Any word yet on season 2???

The Beverly Hillbillies had 36 episodes in season 2 and 34 in season 3, and they didn't split their seasons! Its bad enough when hour long shows are split by volumes like the Love Boat, Love American Style, Dynasty etc, but half hour sitcoms, especially long running shows, it just sucks. I hope they change this for future releases!

The way they handled MTS with this split, along with the horrible music replacement, has made me less anxious to buy volume 2. the way it's going, I think CBS hopes to abandon MTS. hopefully a company like Shout! or MPI will do better in handling it.

'My Three Sons' is one of my core shows, but I thought the inital street price of almost $40 per set was outrageous.

I do not know. CBS has not split up seasons of Hawaii 5-0 and the total running time for 24 one-hour (well 50 minutes) episosed is more than 36 episodes at 25 minutes.

but they can charge twice as much this way!!!

but for a show that a lot of buyers are probably not aware of.....yea, that was smart of them.......LOL
