what scenes etc. in shows were you suprised to see when you saw them on DVD for the first time?
I was surprised to see scenes in "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW", "MASH", "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" and "GREEN ACRES" that I had never seen before I got the DVDS that some early episodes of "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" started with what's called a "cold start"-where they show 2 or 3 minutes of the show before the opening (Carl Riener says on the commentary for one episode that he likes to call them "Hey Mirts" because a husband can watch them then shout to his wife "Hey Mirt! This week they're showing...") and in some of the early episodes of "MASH" the opening theme sounds different.

In the Brady Bunch first season DVD, the episode "Father of the Year" has scenes of Jan and Cindy looking for Marcia and they pass through the kitchen where Carol and Alice are doing some late night ironing (Carol doing housework!! OMG!!) Jan and Cindy pretend to be thirsty and get some water from the fridge (using the cold water dispenser--something hardly EVER used on the show). The scene is obviously restored from an old network 16mm print, because it is more faded and scratchy looking than the rest of the episode. I don't recall that scene ever in all my years of BB watching.

The Brady Bunch - Season 4, "Bobby's Hero"
Bobby says "Some chance I've got of being 7 foot 2 and....Black!" during the dinner scene. Awkward.....

Wilt Chamberlain. The family was discussing heroes.

If he'd only known back then about Chamberlain's later unrealistic boasts of his encounters w/ women!
