I thought this would be a fun idea for a thread. Just throw out an idea of what you think would make a good sitcom. Be creative and original! Give the series plot, characters and their traits, even cast real actors for the part.

I always have ideas floating around in my head because I'm a writer at heart without the opportunity to write an actual sitcom. Here's one that I thought of once while I was tuning my dad out on the way home from school whilst he whined about politics. :)

Who knows, maybe the networks will use our ideas. :p (Or steal them...erm).

"The Teacher’s Lounge"-sitcom about a group of high school teachers. Centered around five characters:
The Smart One-woman: smart, quirky…her coming to the school starts the story.
The Ladies Man-man: always after the ladies, but very sensitive. Cries a lot.
The Flirt-woman: flirtatious woman, in her 40’s or 50's, dresses sexy and flirts with students and colleagues alike.
The Cool One-man: the teacher that all the students like, suave, savvy.
The One that Gets Walked All Over-man: the teacher that students don’t listen to, and can’t be made to listen to. Gets picked on by students and colleagues alike, but is very loveable.
The Principal

I figured it covered all of the different types of teachers at a highschool, and there's never been a sitcom about a group of teachers that I know of (you'd think there would've been?) I didn't cast anyone yet, though, although for some reason I picture the flirt being played by Kim Cattrall, ha.

That's all I've got for now. Any other ideas? Hopefully this thread takes off. Tell each other what you think!

That is a pretty cool idea. I have few ideas for tv shows but there are ideas for one hour drama shows.

The little Bastard Show: About a 9year old hoodlum who does just about every crime imaginable and is always pulling off some sort of ponzi scheme that always blows up in his face and sometimes literally.

The Simpletons: A risqué Muppet show kind of like Meet The Feebles except not gross.

Hike Faster I Hear Banjo Music: Imagine a demented hybrid of Dukes Of Hazard, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, and Red Green if you will.

The Yayhoos: Three friends who get themselves into all sorts of predicaments a demented version of The Three Stooges.

The Walnuts: What the Walton's would be like if Rob Zombie, Quentin Tarantino or Sam Peckinpah were in charge of production.

Love your ideas especially The Simpletons.
