Looking at some old matches on youtube I forgot how he added so much energy to big time matches. A WWF match without his voice is like

NFL without Madden
NBA without Hubie

Monsoon was a legend

Monsoon was a legend

Yeah, him and Bobby Heenan made a great announcing team back in the day. Gorilla is from my hometown.

Gorilla Monsoon will always be the voice of the WWF in my opinion!!!! I couldn't have said it better myself Solomon, his voice is what Madden's is to football, or what Marv Albert's is to basketball. Solomon, you should consider adding WWE24/7 to your cable. It's only $7.99 a month, and has all kinds of old school stuff from back when you followed wrestling, and I think you'd love it. And yes, there's plenty of Gorilla Monsoon. Anyway, I respect the Jim Rosse's and Jerry Lawler's, but like I said, there's only one voice of the WWE/F, and that's Gorilla Monsoon. His stuff with Heenan, and Jesse Ventura was legendary!!

Yeah, you could really tell how much he loved the business. I miss the old WWF days. :( Thank godness for youtube, and WWE24/7.

"Let me tell ya sumthin', Gorilla..." --Jesse The Body.

Bobby Heenan was the last great "heel" announcer. Those old timers were great, but to me, Jim Ross is the best ever. Even Steamboat thanked him for calling his matches during his Hall of Fame speech.

I also like Brent Musburger. Nothing says college football in the fall like Brent.

Gorilla Monsoon's banter with Bobby Heenan was funny.

"Gimme a break!"

"Will you stop?"

I agree 1000%! Gorilla Monsoon could make you get into a match and make it thrilling. He was one of a kind with Bobby The Brain Heenan. I also liked the announce team of Vince McMahon and Jesse The Body Ventura.

I loved how he put Bobby in his place every time, LOL. How about these:

"He doesn't even know a wrist lock from a wrist watch".
"He lies and you swear to it".

I do wish they would put the best of Primetime Wrestling on dvd, announcers today just don't know how to call a match these days.

They actually play about two episodes a month of WWE Primetime on WWE24/7 on demand. Right now their in the year 1987, and the banter between Heenan and Monsoon is hilarious!! You might want to look into seeing if you have it in your area, as it only cost $7.99 a month for WWE 24/7. At that price, it's basically a steal with all the classic action they give you each month. You might want to look into it!!

^ Yes its on WWE 24/7 this month in the Legends profile of Monsoon. It was a boxing match that took place in Puerto Rico with Andre. It ended with Monsoon unconscious on a tarp and it was raining outside.

I remember Best of WWF Vol 13 I think, it had Gorilla Monsoon having a confrontation with Mohammad Ali, it was awesome. Monsoon threw someone out of the ring and Ali got mad and stood up and started pointing at Gorilla. Ali threw jabs at Gorilla, who waiting for an opening and picked him up and airplane spun him. It was good.
