I'm still curious about what Anna Anton looked like. And Kenneth Engie...I like seeing if the actors have any resemblance to people featured on UM.

Are they any more cases where we never got to see photos of the victims?

Georges Gumbley was casually mentioned as going missing at the same time as Clifford Sherwood, but never discussed or depicted, which was provoking to his family, and viewers.

The airplane wing jumper, Brian Deucker. Never got to see an update where he was identified. In fact, I think we never actually saw a sketch on the segment, just had a verbal description.

I remember someone (justin?) mentioning in another thread that not only was a picture of the other little boy in the Scott Johnson case not shown, but hardly anything about him was said at all. No family members interviewed, nothing. :(

Strange, so that makes at least two like that. At least the boy thought to be linked to the Kurt Sova case was pictured.

Yes, it might have been me mentioning that on one of the threads about the case.

Pretty much no mention of the kid or any of his attributes aside from the fact that he was Scott's friend.

I always wondered if the other kid's family believed the official version, or possibly didn't want to dig up old wounds.

I think I mentioned this before on a similar thread but we never saw pictures of Freddie Dobberly(sp?) and Mary Lou Holmes - Glen Consagra's (or possibly someone else's) victims.

You actually do see one, briefly, in one of the few pictures that "John" allowed himself to be photographed in. They stood with her two children (I think) and a horse.

ah, ok. They didn't actually say it was her (I don't think), so I think that's what threw me off.

Curiosity sated, at least in one case. Here is a picture of Brian Deucker.

in the Social Security murders segment, we never see pictures of either of the victims. Heck, I don't even think they mentioned Julius's sister's name. We didn't see Gordon Luther Hall either.

I can't remember the name of the principals, but there was a segment involving faking a death by a doctor, and they show the "victim" which is just a photo of the reenactment actor. Wish I could remember the name.

I think it's this case:

That kind of sounds like Dr. Richard Boggs' segment, although I don't remember the name of the victim. Boggs' accomplice was named John Hawkins, though, and the only reason I remember it so well is because RS made a point to inform us at the end that Hawkins had once worked at Studio 54. There was also some weird video footage of him on a TV commercial trying to pitch some very decade-appropriate tee shirts.

I think they mentioned Julius' sister name was Jessie Patterson.

The woman, Anna that was very religious. Her ex-husband was supposedly in the mob so she was having to hide out. (so she said) She was having sex with a sheriff. He got tired of her and killed her. You never see a picture of her and I have looked online and I couldn't find a picture of her there either.

Quickly looked it up online...woman's name was Anna Anton...the guy that killed her was Gregory Webb.

Come to think of it, I think you're right.

What's sad is that some of these victims probably didn't have anyone in their life who cared about them enough to take photos. Anna Anton had escaped from her old life and didn't seem to have any known family members, so it's plausible that there would be no photos available for UM to use (other than crime scene photos  ). And sadly, it's not surprising that there weren't any pictures of Jessie Patterson since her murderous brother didn't exactly strike me as the sentimental type. If photographs of her and Hall Luther Gordon existed, I wouldn't be surprised if he destroyed them to cover his crimes.

There weren't any photos of Kenneth Enge either. Based on the reenactment actor, I'm thinking he was quite the looker.

Remember David Gordon Smith, the guy who shot and killed J.B. Hamby? While a photo of his wife (whom he was known to be traveling with) WAS shown, it was taken when she was 17 years old, which was clearly sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s judging from her hairstyle and clothing--and the segment first aired in 1988! I always thought it was very strange that such an old photograph of her was shown.

You do very briefly see a picture of the actual victim. It's shown by side-by-side next to the picture of the reenactment actor on the floor of the doctor's office, IIRC.

I thought it was just a picture of the actor acting dead next to the actor. Either that or the actor just looked exactly like the real dude.

I've always wondered who the voice of the "Omar" fires was. Since him and another were both minors, they're ID's were not publicized, and not shown on the UM update about the story. I'm sure he just looks like a normal person, but it would be interesting to put a face to that voice.

"Look at it Omar, a-ha-ha-ha!"

I believe Cold Case Files did a story on the arsonist and you do get to see video footage of the kid, but in goth makeup.

Or was it American Justice? I forget.

Yeah I saw another show that profiled the case. It showed some footage of the home videos that the guy made, but they were in costume.

They never showed any pictures of Clifford Sherwood's friend who was last seen with him before the two of them disappeared to fate/s unknown. I know this happened in 1954, but, even though Clifford himself was the primary subject of this segment, I'd think it wouldn't have hurt the case to have also shown the friend in case someone out there DID recognize the friend and, thus might have been able to uncovered the friend's and possibly Clifford's fate/s.

I believe the friend's name was George Gumbley. In the segment, it mentions how he and Clifford were walking to school together that day, but the fact that both boys disappeared TOGETHER was left out. It seems that it was that way so that Clifford's father would look like the guilty party.
