View Full Version : Farrah Fawcett Hospitalized
Brian Damage 04-04-2009, 09:19 PM (April 4) -- Farrah Fawcett, who has been battling cancer for three years, is reportedly hospitalized due to worsening conditions according to a new report.
RadarOnline cites sources claiming Fawcett is in critical but stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital. The source also claims that Fawcett is unconscious, and that longtime love Ryan O'Neal has been with Fawcett during her hospitalization.
Fawcett has been fighting anal cancer since her diagnosis in 2006. Though she was diagnosed free of cancer, the disease has returned. She has recently undergone experimental stem-cell treatment in Germany.

TripperFan 04-04-2009, 09:23 PM I hope this isn't true. I know she freaked the other day on these reporters who snapped her in the wheelchair. She didn't want to be seen in it. My prayers are with her and Ryan. :(
Marvo301 04-04-2009, 09:23 PM That's sad news.
catlover79 04-04-2009, 09:29 PM Godspeed, Farrah!! Keep the faith.
Mr. Television 04-04-2009, 09:37 PM It breaks my heart. Farrah was always my favorite Angel.....I hope a miracle happens for her but it doesn't look good. :(
catlover79 04-04-2009, 10:09 PM Not only has she had to go through the illness, but the paparazzi and the drug bust Ryan and Redmond got messed up in. I just feel so sorry for the poor lady. God bless her.
dakert 04-04-2009, 10:44 PM Thanks for the update on Farrah

Brian Damage 04-06-2009, 10:23 AM According to friends close to Farrah Fawcett, the 62-year-old actress might be nearing the end of her battle with cancer.
“She’s a fighter, but we get the sense she knows the end is coming,” says one friend of Fawcett’s. “But we’re all still praying for a miracle.”
The friend said the intention was to keep this hospitalization, which was first reported by Radaronline.com.
“She doesn’t want this becoming a circus, so we (her friends and family) wanted to keep her hospitalization quiet. We were as surprised as anyone when it turned up in the press,” says the friend.

TripperFan 04-06-2009, 10:39 AM That explains why she freaked out so much when they got pics of her in the wheelchair. I'm sure she didn't want these to be the "last" pictures of her. She'd rather be remembered in her red swimsuit.
Don't worry Farrah - you will be remembered in your glory. So sad she couldn't beat it. She fought hard though. :(

Re: Ailing Farrah Fawcett 'doing fantastic'

NEW YORK – Farrah Fawcett, who has struggled with cancer since 2006, has checked into a Los Angeles hospital but is "not on death's door," a producer who has worked with the actress told The Associated Press on Monday.
Craig Nevius confirmed early Monday that the 62-year-old "Charlie's Angels" star, who was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, was hospitalized because of a blood clot that was likely a side effect of treatment she recently had in Germany.
"She's doing fantastic," Nevius said in a phone interview. "Her fight goes on. ... She's not going anywhere anytime soon."
The hospitalization was first reported by RadarOnline.com. Fawcett's doctor, Lawrence Piro, said that Fawcett had abdominal bleeding and a hematoma after undergoing aggressive alternative cancer treatments in Germany.
After the procedure, Piro said she flew back to Los Angeles. "It turned out that the procedure caused a small amount of bleeding in one of the muscles of her abdomen, making a hematoma, which was quite painful."
Piro said in a statement made available to the AP on Monday that Fawcett was using a wheelchair because it was painful for her to walk. "That pain, which was coming from the hematoma, had nothing directly to do with the cancer."
Added Piro: "She remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor. She's been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience."
Nevius is the producer of Fawcett's upcoming documentary chronicling her battle against cancer. The actress was diagnosed with the disease in October 2006; after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, Fawcett got a clean bill of health in early 2007.
But several months later, Fawcett's cancer returned and she eventually pursued alternative therapy abroad.
Nevius said Fawcett is expected to leave the hospital in a few days. He said her support system includes former partner Ryan O'Neal, her father and "Charlie's Angels" co-stars Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.
"Let me tell you what she's not," Nevius said. "As previously reported by everybody, she's not unconscious. She is not on death's door. The family has not gathered to say goodbye."
Meanwhile, Redmond O'Neal, Fawcett's son with Ryan O'Neal, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of bringing narcotics into a jail facility and was being held on $25,000 bail.
A deputy at a jail in Castaic, north of Los Angeles, was doing a security sweep of the jail's parking lot when he stopped the 24-year-old, who admitted he was carrying drugs and was apparently at the jail giving a ride to a friend, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
A phone message left for O'Neal's attorney wasn't immediately returned.
O'Neal was arrested along with his father last year at the actor's Malibu home on suspicion of having methamphetamine while on probation for a previous drug conviction. He has pleaded not guilty in that case.

I think yours is more credible because it came from he AP wire, mine came from MSNBC. We shall see, I am sure she is not doing fantastic though considering her son just got bustd for drugs again. ohno:

AGAIN?? That's the first I've heard about it. How could he keep doing this to his mother? He's her only child, too. What an ungrateful, disrespectful brat.
TripperFan 04-06-2009, 11:49 AM That's what hit me too - nothing like fighting for your life and your stupid, never will grow up kid is running around getting busted for street drugs. Great. Always helps a lot.
She has not had an easy life by any means. Again, like Princess Diana, you can have all the looks and money in the world and it doesn't mean a thing if your personal life is a shambles. :(
catlover79 04-06-2009, 11:54 AM ^ Like father, like son. ohno: At least Tatum seems to be trying to clean up her act.

Yah, she did have a fairly recent relapse, but I think she is genuine about trying to get clean. I would have thought Redmond would have seen his two half-siblings go down the wrong path and would have steered away from it. It's sad he got caught up in it too. He should have known he inheirited their genes of addiction (as I'm sure at some point, Farrah was also on drugs).
The whole family (including Ryan's first wife) has been an entire trainwreck over the years. Very sad. I'll hand it to Ryan though for being her rock and standing by her this whole time.

Yes, I'm happy that Ryan has been at her side throughout. Support systems are so important.
You're right about Ryan's first wife (who was also Tatum and Griffin's mother), Joanna Moore. She was a guest star on one of my all-time favorite Bewitched episodes ("Charlie Harper, Winner" from Season 3). So sad how her life ended up. ohno:

That's "Charlie Harper, Winner", the Bewitched episode Ryan's first wife Joanna Moore guest starred on. She was beautiful and you can definitely see the resemblance between her and Tatum.

:( God bless her - I wish I could give her a hug.
Brian Damage 04-17-2009, 06:54 PM Redmond O'Neal has been given yet another chance to kick his drug habit.
Appearing in a Los Angeles court Friday, wearing a brown jail jumpsuit and shackled in chains, O'Neal, 24, the troubled son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, cited his mother's life-or-death battle with cancer as a reason to get clean.
"I want to be there for my mother," O'Neal said in a barely audible voice, referring to Fawcett. "She weighs about 86 pounds. I'm upset with myself. My timing sucks."
Redmond was in court for sentencing for violating probation on a 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction. Superior Court Judge Scott Millington offered him another chance to enter a drug program following a hearing April 30.
