Hey guys, check out what I found: A different version of the pilot episode! Anyone familiar with this version?
Although it's not much different from the other version, there are some differences, though:
1) For one thing, this version is 30 seconds longer than the other version.
2) This version has a slightly different opening, compared to the other version, which used the regular season 1 opening.
3) Right after the opening, instead of a fade-to-black sequence, there is an extra scene with Kotter and Julie, and Julie is wearing a hat.
4) In this version, the sweathogs, and the actors who played as them, are credited for the first time in the last scene.
It's possible that this version was used to sell the show to ABC, and although it worked, ABC decided to air it as the 3rd episode of season 1, and make some minor edits to it, as well. Just a thought.
