I noticed something in many episodes which involves any scene in the living room. It seems that whenever one of the 'girls' are sitting on the sofa by themselves (waiting for someone to come through the front door, or from the kitchen) they are always reading a magazine (and it looks like it's always a 'travel' magazine from what I can tell). They are never watching TV, chatting on a phone, reading a book or newspaper, etc - it's always relaxing with a magazine. This drives me crazy for some reason.

They did read a lot of magazines and books. My guess is that always having to turn off a television when a scene began would be annoying and distracting, which is why television sets are used sparingly in most television shows and props such as books and magazines make the scene simpler to film.
