OLATHE, Kan. -- A TV production crew set up shop at an Olathe home for a garage sale.

The home belongs to former child actor Willie Aames, who started in "Eight is Enough" and "Charles in Charge."

The actor has had some troubled times in recent years, including a gossip column reporting a suicide attempt and the apparent foreclosure of his Olathe home.

Some of his belongings were out in the driveway on Thursday while cameras rolled, taping for a reality show.

Dozens of onlookers filled the cul-de-sac.

Aames filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last year.

That's exactly how I feel about him too. He really is a fine man who just had a lot of heavy curve balls thrown at him. I'm praying for him to have joy and bounty - like he's given to so many others.

I do wish him the best. I met him in 1999 when I was living in Tampa, FL. He was making a special appearance as "Bibleman" at one of the Christian bookstores that I was at. Although he was "Bibleman", I still made references to "Eight is enough" and "Charles In Charge". How obnoxius of me! LOL. I got his autograph but it was signed as "Bibleman".
