I wonder which cases those are. So far the only thing good about the new UM is their updated website. I wish they would list more cases there with transcripts. If they had the old vids of those cases, it would be a perfect site.

Well, I think it's a covert government medical experiment and they are monitoring the effects of UM withdrawals on us through our posts on this board.

Disappointed to say the least.

And really, put it back on tv already. I have noticed a serious decline in the quality and quantity of my house work when UM is off the air.

When it's on, I get lots more done around the house. When they're not showing it, I glue myself to the computer and you can't clean the house and type at the same time. My house is a mess and it's all their fault.

I'm sure there'll be a CSI marathon the week after...
I hate how they toy with us like that!!

Maybe they realize not many people are watching. If even us die hards don't like it then how do you think casual viewers will feel?

I doubt the ratings are very good and Cosgrove is to blame for screwing up a very good show. They should have left well enough alone and just brought in a new host. Unless Spike forced Cosgrove to make changes which I doubt

That could be, but I doubt it. It's just easier to have your station on auto-pilot, CSI marathon. Then only one person named Bubba has to run the station and just put it on loop. Less work to do.

They could do the same auto-pilot with UM but obvioiusly other shows do better.

I wish Spike would make up their minds already! Don't they have a five year contract to air the show?

No one likes CSI that much, do they?

I know! According to my DVR 2 weeks ago, Spike was supposed to have Unsolved on March 30 & 31. I look ahead now, and it pushed to April 6th...

One of these times, Spike will air UM for 2 months and not interrupt it's days for a CSI marathon. And when that time comes, I'll be prepared, because that means that the end in pretty seriously nigh. And zombies will be walking the Earth.

CSI is one of the top rated shows in the country and I'm pretty sure it's one of the most watched TV shows in the entire world.

It's so popular that people even like watching repeats on Spike and I'll NEVER understand that. It's just fake and fictionalized stories.

Watching true stories is much more interesting on shows like the OLD UM, AMW, Forensic Files, Investigators, City Confidential, Autopsy, etc.

I can only get into watching a fictional drama for so long, and then I get tired of it and move on.

Like for two or three months now, my family has been on a House binge. We watch a few eppies a week. But if we've recently seen one of the reruns, we don't watch that one and we go do something else. We'll be over House in no time....

I've done the same thing with other shows. I watched reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for about 3 months. Never watched it again. Same thing with The Closer. I even watched Days of Our Lives for over 20 years, then one day I just didn't turn it on and never watched again.

I never got into any of the Law and Order shows, no Star Trek, CSI, ER, Desperate Housewives, none of the popular stuff. The only reruns of fiction I never got sick of watching are Charmed and Dead Like Me. That's it. But I can watch UM, Cold Case Files, The New Detectives, and stuff like that over and over.

Come live with me! I have watched CSI: Miami once and I thought it was a comedy with David Caruso overacting so much. I thought it was a SNL parody.

Love your list of shows and can we please include American Justice? That show rocks.

VikingsGal,

The only thing I ever knew about CSI Miami was that it made David Caruso think that all of a sudden, he'd turned into a good lookin guy who could act. What the heck? lol

I love the original CSI. Granted now the show sucks that William Petersen is no longer on the show. They should have never did 2 more CSI shows. There was no need for the extra shows.

I don't know how anyone could watch the Miami version. Caruso just makes me sick looking at him. LMAO

David Caruso is a f'ing joke on that show. He always puts his sunglasses on, walks off camera, and exits the scene the same way everytime. Anyone else notice that?

LOL Fed up? Hate is too nice of a word for those morons.

I think Spike is just using UM for filler when their rental agreements run out on their other shows. The whole thing is weird. The schedule rotation is mystery unto itself. IDK, maybe one of the head honchos at spike sobers up every few months and reminds them that they have a contract with CM so they'd better run a few episodes of UM.

Why can't they just rerun the old episodes that were on Lifetime? When you see the old shows on YouTube you can see how rushed the new episodes are. At least when Spike airs them you can see how rushed they are!

Yeah, they could have saved a considerable amount of money had they just ran the old episodes again and saved the nostalgia and quality aspects of the show, then just added updates where needed. Then produce new cases later using almost the same formula and gotten a better host/narrator. Also, they shouldn't have produced new music while chucking the old out completely for this new incarnation of the show. They should have used a variation of the old music while keeping it intact. Sort of like a progression from the NBC to the CBS and to the new. As it is now, the music is totally crappy. I could produce a much better theme on my computer using the original as the main part and adding a little more production and variation to it, making it new and improved.

Zap2It says that UM will come back on April 6 (next Monday) and will air 11 AM to 3 PM all week long:

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/unsolved-mysteries/EP01084404

I think these are all reruns? I think usually when the episodes are new, they don't have descriptions.

I personally have started watching The FBI Files again for the first time in ages on that horrible WE network. I always referred to WE as "Lifetime but worse" but now that they have a hokey, dated true crime show and The Golden Girls... :P

I consider WE (Women's Entertainment) the "poor man's Lifetime." (Or should that be "poor woman's Lifetime"?)

Speaking of networks that are aimed at women viewers, I thought Oxygen was supposed to be a womens network kinda thing.

I was watching Pride & Prejudice the other day and every time it went to commercial, I was pulled out of 1820 and thrown onto some hooker's corner haunt.

DH plopped down on the couch and asked me what I was watching, and then I pointed out the commercials. I said, I thought this was aimed at women. What's with the jiggly, half dressed, blonde ho beatdown?

With perez hilton's bad girls, and pretty wicked, plus all the other catfight crap, I think oxygen is a spike/mtv hybrid for females.

Heh, yes, Oxygen is mostly only good for Roseanne reruns and commercials for sex toys. :P

WE also shows repackaged 20/20 true-crime segments. Those are super dated but also watchable as well. Why Spike (or someone else) couldn't just air the original UM and just update the individual cases still boggles my mind.

Some of those old 20/20 episodes can be interesting they also show old 48 Hours episodes on ID or Investigation Discovery. I know there are several people on this forum that want to see that 48 Hours episode on the missing Springfield 3 which is one of the most mysterious cases you will hear of.

But they never repeat that one for some reason.

And today we get Wendy Camp and all the "bitchin' and a moanin'" to go with it!

We also get Road Rage with "Jean" and the poor guy who got shot after the road rage incident. I don't want to sound cruel but why do folks insist on engaging some weirdo stranger? Just drive to a police station.

I need to edit my post: It was too much "gripin' and a bitchin" for the gramma to deal with, so they killed them!

Chad Noe is certainly a twitchy little fella, isn't he?
