Basically I went on YouTube to search for videos on the resorts that were located up in the Catskill Mountains in New York State.

I used to attend many of these places when I was younger every summer. Over time as society changed many of these resorts closed and some still stand there abandoned for decades.

During the heyday from the 1920s-1950s there used to be literally hundreds of these family resorts up in the mountains. They also catered to different ethnic groups; as the Italian, Irish, Jewish, and German families would each have their own resorts that catered to their music, food, and entertainment.

When the 1970s and 1980s came around many of these resorts were losing money as the younger generations saw no interest in coming up to these places. Air-travel and cruises were becoming more and more affordable so families wanted to now spend a week in Disneyworld instead.

Anyway, one of these resorts I found is called Kutsher's Hotel and it is one of the few remaining hotels in the Borscht Belt region; hotels that catered to Jewish people.

The owner of the place briefly reflects on when Jerry Seinfeld was a "nobody" who did stand-up comedy at the resort. I found it cool so I thought to mention it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Til8q0tI9Co
