I just wondered if there were any fans that thought Dorothy should have remarried Stan in the last episode instead of Lucas and that storyline?

I think they should have saved the two part episode "There Goes the Bride" which aired on February 2 and 9, 1991 to have been the series finale episode in May 1992 with Dorothy actually remarrying Stan.

Debbie Reynolds could have moved in as their new roomate and then also joined them on the Golden Palace instead of the two male characters that were in the cast. Had Golden Palace centered around four women like Golden Girls, it might have survived longer than one season.

I thought the final episode with Dorothy marrying Lucas was all kind of abrupt and silly. The end wasn't bad since it was the final episode, but I think it might have had more meaning if Dorothy and Stan had actually gotten back together since their relationship was featured throughout the series.

I really feel there was no way Dorothy & Stan could have reconciled after all they had been through. Although it was obvious Dorothy still cared for Stan, in spite of how terribly annoying he was, but I think Dorothy knew in her heart that she was better off divorced from Stan. I was happy that Dorothy was allowed to have final closure with Stan when he drove the limousine to church on her wedding day. The final episode is one of the great series finales of all time, in my opinion, as all of the characters remained true to themselves until the very end, and I thought it was fitting that Dorothy was the character who ultimately found happiness in a relationship after so many years of trying! :)

We all liked Stan. But you couldn't ask for a more funnier, tear jerking ending.

I think it was a mistake to marry off Dorothy no matter whom she was marrying. She didn't belong with Lucas at all (that made no sense), and I still say Stan should have been heard about but not seen.

I didn't mind her marrying Lucas but what didn't make any sense is they had that large church wedding but who were all those people? Rose, Blanche, Sophia and Stan were there, but shouldn't Michael and Kate have been there? What about Uncle Angelo?, Harry Weston?, Gloria? They should have had a smaller affair, like a justice of the peace wedding, if these signifacant people couldn't be there.
