I just bought a copy of a new book called Errol Flynn Slept Here: The Flynns, the Hamblens, Rick Nelson, and the Most Notorius House in Hollywood. It's about the infamous Errol Flynn house on Mulholland Drive, known for its Hollywood orgies and secret two-way mirrors. Rick was the last owner, until his death, and it was torn down in 1988. The authors interviewed Gunnar and Matthew, and the book also includes some rememberances from Tracy originally published elsewhere about the house, the odd experiences the Nelsons had with ghosts in the house, and how Rick apparently had some lonely, depressed times there after Kris divorced him. But the book also contains Matthew's rememberances of Rick's last Christmas at the house, when he and Helen and all his kids as well as Harriet and David had one last happy gathering. Also, the book mentions that when Rick tried (unsuccessfully) to sell the house in 1983 (asking price $1.3 million), his realtor was none other than Connie Nelson (nee Connie Harper, Miss Edwards)! The book, which is coffee-table size and full of photos, contains large photos of the realtor's brochure, with a blurb saying, "For further information contact Connie Nelson," with a phone number. It's a shame the house didn't sell, since, as the book explains, it was Rick's money problems after the divorce that kept him on tour almost non-stop and that led him to buy that rickety old DC-3 in May 1985 for touring because he was taking "a drubbing on commercial airline fares and schedules." Anyway, the book is interesting for fans of Rick or of "old Hollywood." BTW, the owner of the new house where the Flynn house stood is Justin Timberlake! Sign of the times, lol!
