Aniston: 'I Dumped Mayer'

Jennifer Aniston has reportedly told friends it was her decision to end her romance with rocker John Mayer.

The singer-guitarist was rumoured to have dumped the former Friends actress last week (ends06Mar09) after she returned from promoting her latest movie Marley & Me in Europe.

But, according to U.K. newspaper The Sun, it was Aniston's decision to end the relationship - after Mayer became distant following an appearance at the Academy Awards last month.

A source tells the publication, "They had a great time at the Oscars, but he seemed to go cold right after. It's humiliating. To say her feelings are hurt is an understatement."

The pair had a tumultuous relationship - they started dating in early 2008 but parted ways during the summer. They rekindled their romance in October, before reportedly splitting again last week.

I've never thought him right for her and it sounds as though he just wanted a chance to go to the Oscars and then "see ya"!

She should just move on to some guy that isn't as "flighty" as he seems to be. Plus, I don't even find him physically attractive at all.

Aniston Dumped Mayer Over Twitter

Jennifer Aniston reportedly dumped boyfriend John Mayer because of his obsession with social networking website Twitter.

The pair ended their romance earlier this month, with some reports alleging it was Mayer's decision to break up.

But, according to U.K. magazine Star, Aniston ended the relationship after discovering Mayer was spending hours posting updates on Twitter.com, despite claiming he was too busy to get in touch with her.

A source close to Aniston tells the publication, "Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with updates! Every few hours, sometimes minutes, he’d update with some stupid line.

"She was like, ‘He has time for all this Twittering, but he can’t send me a text, an email, make a call?’ He didn’t deny it. He knew he was avoiding her. So when she ended things, he just said Ok, and he was sorry it didn’t work out.”
