LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – It took 34 years, but Chevy Chase, one of the original Not Ready for Prime-Time Players, is ready.
"Saturday Night Live" alumnus Chase will co-star on the NBC comedy pilot "Community," marking his first potential full-time primetime series gig.
"Community" is described as "Stripes" at a community college. It centers on Jeff (Joel McHale), a lawyer who is back in school after his college degree is deemed invalid.
Chase will play a student at the community college who has been married five times.
Chase, who has worked mainly in film over the past three decades, did a multi-episode arc on ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" and will have a recurring role on NBC's "Chuck" later this season.
His next movie, the Polish brothers' comedy "Stay Cool," premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival.
