ST. LOUIS (AP)—The St. Louis Rams have released wide receiver Torry Holt, a key member of the team’s “Greatest Show on Turf” days.

The move announced Friday comes three days after the Rams released 33-year-old tackle Orlando Pace.

Releasing Pace and the 32-year-old Holt creates $14 million in salary cap space for the Rams. The team is trying to get younger as it rebuilds after going 2-14 in 2008 and 5-27 over the last two seasons.

Holt is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection who ranks 11th in league history with 869 receptions and 14th with 12,660 receiving yards. His 80.1 yards-per-game career receiving average is the best in NFL history.

Looks like the Titans wanted him.

I wonder how many slots that pushes back Nate Washington if they take him.

Just want to remind everyone that Terry Holt played on the 2008 Rams Team in week 1 who lost 58-3 so he obviously wasn't able to get open that often.

I'm noy buying that, you act like Bulger was sacked on every play-lol they had 60 min to score a TD and didn't do it and Holt was on the field

I think you are just downplaying the guy's skills because he'll probably sign with the Eagles. ;)

The eagles don'r sign 32 year old recievers unless they are a NUMBER ONE and we both no that Holt is not that much different from what they already have
