When I was in kindergarten, I was convinced I would grow up to be a paleontologist. I thought it would be the coolest job in the world to dig up dinosaur bones. Today I can't even spell it!

Instead I grew up to become a banker :crazy:

Ashlee, hahha I have to agree with you on most of that. From first grade through 6th, I wanted to be a teacher.

Then, I started coming here in the 7th grade and wanted to become a writer/producer for TV shows.

Now I'm working on a novel and think it would be cool to do that for a living...but the chances of that....lol.

I'm in college now, so I have some time to decide.

A pro basketball player, and a screenwriter. I'm thinking of joining an adult basketball league. It's definitely not the NBA, and you don't make any money, but it would still be fun.

Then later, in the 60s when the united states was involved in the space race; I wanted to be an astronaut. Then I found out how much work and study is involved and that put an end to that dream! (also when I realized how stupid I am)

And my older brother laughing at me when I said it also didn't help matters any.

i've wanted to be a singer on and off my whole life, but i know i wouldn't be able to make a full-time career out of it for a variety of reasons. hopefully it's something i can do part time, but i'll at least always do it as a hobby. i've had a desire to be a psychologist or social worker for a long time as well, and i still do, but the degrees are too much work for my ADD and the job itself is probably too unfit for my anxiety. i'm studying to be an administrative assistant, even though i'm sure my social anxiety will interfere. i like doing office work and it's the only degree at my college that i think i have a good chance at getting.

I wanted to be a police officer lol! But now I wanna be a cartoonist still working on that.

A singer and a children's novelist. Now...I work in a call center. :lol:

Fashion Designer, Interior Decorator, or Pediatrician.

Now I want to work in an area of the media that involves writing (Books, blogs, magazines, news wire, tabloids, freelance ect. as long as it makes good money!) or I want to become a suit designer.

It's a mystery/suspense/crime sorta novel. I'm not too far in though right now, only about 5,500 words. Which isn't a bad start, but nowhere close to the end lol.

That's the great thing about the internet. Who needs publishers? Just post it on the internet and people will read it. Of course...there won't be any money made, but if you're in it for creativity's sake then it's a good deal. :p

ohh, I forgot director. I was directing plays I wrote for awhile from about age 8-10, with my sister and cousin as the actors.

You could also consider self-publishing it.

I know of 2 people who self-published their own books through lulu.com. The fee varies, depending on how long it is and what not, it's a few $100 at least.

Thanks for your kind thought (same for Cathy). In the early 90s, I had an extreme sensitivity towards game shows, and even though I still enjoy the genre very much, it has come back to haunt me at various times later in my life. And of course, that's where the dream started. But no one says dreams can't come true when you least expect it!

A lot of us are writers! I wrote my first book when I was sixteen. I recently located all of my old notebooks - there was a reason I never sent them to a publisher :blush:

I also wanted to be a ballerina, a doctor, a veteranarian, a priest (I'm Catholic, so that definitely wouldn't have worked), a teacher, a pharmicist, a rock star, an actress, a supermodel, a clothes designer, an astronaut, a pilot, a bus driver, a chef, a traveler, a baseball player, a firefighter, an OB/GYN, a homemaker, and a bunch of other stuff.

I had an active imagination as a kid.

From about the age of six, I've wanted to write. I used to write stories, poems and plays a lot but in the last couple of years it's something that I haven't seemed to have much time for.

I still do want to have a career in writing someday. I like the idea of writing some books about my New Age beliefs and astral projection.
