Rap is finally getting the Ray treatment. New Line is developing Straight Outta Compton, an urban drama about N.W.A. (a.k.a. *****z With Attitude), the hip hop group that helped pioneer the gangsta rap movement in the '80s and early '90s. The project will chronicle the rise and fall of the rap quartet, founded by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and MC Ren, whose songs were so incendiary (i.e. "F--- tha Police") they were banned from radio playlists but still sold millions of albums. Then came the inevitable fiery breakup, a grudge match between the former bandmates, and Eazy-E's tragic death due to AIDS. The film's producers, which include Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Tomica Wright (Eazy-E's widow), and Circle of Confusion entertainment, are now actively searching for a director along the lines of Curtis Hanson (8 Mile).

I read about this at rap group Wu Tang Clan's website. I wanna see this movie if it gets made. NWA was one of my favorite groups back in the day. RIP Eazy E. I miss his music. Ice Cube and Dr Dre became stars after they left the group. It's a shame Dr Dre takes forever to release a solo album LOL. His The Chronic album is one of my favorites.

You're probably right LOL. I sure would like to hear more solo albums from MC Ren. He was my 2nd favorite rapper in the group. Did you know Eazy E left his widow Tomica in charge of Ruthless records when he died? Some of the rappers at the record label said she did a terrible job LOL. Eazy's son is a rapper now. His name is Little Eazy E. I haven't heard him rap but he looks just like his dad. LOL@Eazy E's Real Muthaf*ckin G's song when he dissed Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg. He said all of a sudden Dr Dre is a g thing but on his old album covers, he was a she thing hahahahahahahahahaha. He dissed Snoop saying tell me where the f*ck you find a anarexic rapper hahahahahahahaha. Talking about who you gon squabble with and who you shoot. You only 60 pounds when you wasn't wearing boots LOL.
