Does anyone know what Show this character was from? It seems the actor who played this supporting role was later given his own show which didn't do well. I would GREATLY appreciate the original show or the actor's name.

I got some additional info..... Apparently the actor did a hand pump gesture while calling himself "the Kirkster". He was tall and blonde. (most likely).

Thanks to all who tried to get this.... The Character was played by Jere Burns in "Dear John".
