I'm surprised there hasn't been mention of this here yet today. Peter Tork went into the hospital for cancer surgery...check out the story:

^ Me too. I saw Peter and his band, Shoe Suede Blues, at Boston Megafest last November and he was great.

I am happy that the prognosis seems good. Get well, Peter.

According to his Facebook page:

"Peter Tork is out of surgery and things have gone well. He is most grateful for everyone's positive energy and love!"

That's definitely good news, and I hope that he has a speeeedy recovery!
Such a nice guy and a great talent!

Man, this ordeal has been the roughest time for me! I couldn't watch or listen to anything Monkees-related for a week!

I sure hope, for Pete's sake, he does make a clean breast of it...

Caroline Boyce posted a blog at her official 'Boyce & Hart' MySpace page about Peter's health. She says that he's doing well, he's getting the stitches out sometime this week, but he has to rest his voice for awhile. His prognosis is good.

It's alleged to be tongue cancer. Let's hope there's no recurrence.
