I saw the episode about the surprise birthdays the other day, and love the actress Lynnie Greene playing the younger Dorothy. She really had her mannerisms down to 'a tee'. I thought it would've been better if they made her a recuring character - as Dorothy's adult daughter (minus Dorothy's mannerisms). I would have liked to have seen some chemistry of three genereations of 'Petrillo' women - Sophia, Dorothy, and the daughter.
Also, I remember Lynnie Greene starring in her own sitcom back in the mid 1970's opposite actress Bess Armstrong (I believe it was called "On Our Own" and lasted one season). Armstrong strongly resembled Rue - she could have been brought in to play Rue's adult daughter, as well, on a recurring basis.
Two actresses (Armstrong and Greene) totally under-rated for their comic talents.
