You may remember Oechsler as the UFO researcher who was at the center of a very memorable UFO segment from 1992 about an anonymous videotape of a UFO landing in a field in Carp, Ontario, Canada. The sighting was videotaped by an informant identified only as "Guardian". The case has since been denounced and a lot of UFO buffs believe it was an elaborate publicity hoax. I actually corresponded with him briefly by telephone and mail in the early nineties. He sent me an unedited copy of the "Guardian" video, as well as a Gulf Breeze poster made from an enlargement of one of Ed Walters' photos. I still have it somewhere in my garage.
