While Tony Romo may not be the answer at starting Qb, the Cowboys did need a more reliable back up.

I don't think there are many reliable bacup QB's out there to be honest. There was one but he is gone, Sage Rosenfels

True, but at least Kitna has worked with WR Roy Williams in the past.

We traded Anthony Henry to Detroit for Kitna. Not sure what to think. Kitna used to be pretty good but he didn't play much last year. He's great at predicting his team's record though. I wonder how many wins he thinks the Cowboys will get? lol

Kitna was a decent quarterback with Seattle and Cincinnati.

Just because he was bad with the Lions doesn't mean you should declare him awful.

Besides, he's already an improvement over Brad Johnson.

I would have liked to have him. I'm not sure about Kitna. He has a big mouth so he should fit right at home in Big D. lol

But if something happens to Romo, at least the backup QB would be capable of throwing a ball 20 yards downfield.

I used to think Brad Johnson could do that. He was a good QB at one time. Kitna hasn't played since about week 4 of last year. Is his back fully healed?
