PAULA Abdul isn't too keen on the addition of fourth judge Kara DioGuardi to "American Idol" this season.

It's nothing personal, she says - just business.

"Kara and I have known each other for years and we get along great," Abdul tells the March 9 issue of OK! magazine.

"But we tried four judges before and it doesn't work."

Abdul is referring to Angie Martinez, the Hot 97 DJ who joined "Idol" as a judge before the second season but bailed before the season kicked off.

Abdul also says the extra person disrupts the flow of the show.

"It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show," she says.

As for her future on "Idol," Abdul is a little more cagey.

"It is the last season of my contract, and I have so many other things I want to do," she says.

I think they should drop back to three judges: Simon, Randy, and Kara.

And it wasn't a mistake for Paula to go off her meds?

:p

I wonder if next season they will do away with the 4 Judge next season.

I haven't been too fond of Kara so far. She has too big of a mouth on her, IMO. She tries to give honest advice, but it ends up sounding mean and shallow about 75% of the time.

I totally agree. She's too full of herself.

Paula's right, IMO, and I wouldn't blame her for moving on after this season.

I think adding Kay is supposed to eventually eliminate Paula so if she left on her own the producers of this show would have achieved their goal.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that really happened.

I can't say I'd be surprised, either. Although, can you really picture Idol with Paula? Half the fun is tuning in to see how she'll studder through her words that week - I'll miss that!
