View Full Version : Shows you like but others don't see the appeal Cactus Jack 02-23-2009, 10:10 PM Not many for me here, well some of the older shows I like I guess. bmasters9 02-24-2009, 06:07 AM I've been enjoying "CHiPs," but my mother and father don't really see the appeal of it. It appeals to me because of its setting (the highways of the downtown L.A. area), and because of format (the daily adventures of two CHP motorcycle cops in and around that area). I've loved it enough to see two seasons' worth of it, and if Warner Bros. would release #3, I'd very possibly purchase it. ekkostar 02-24-2009, 07:23 AM American Dad. The unnecessary negativity that show gets is appalling. Big C 02-24-2009, 09:50 AM Step By Step. During its run, everyone obsessed over fellow ABC shows "Full House" and "Family Matters." MickeyMac 02-24-2009, 04:58 PM My friends dont see how shows like Bewitched, Leave It To Beaver, My Three Sons and several shows from that era. Maybe its a generation thing. steevo 02-24-2009, 07:50 PM I always enjoyed The Dukes Of Hazzard. It was widely panned because of "simplistic storylines". I always found the closeness of family and spirituality on the show to be appealing. dawsongirl 02-24-2009, 11:00 PM Well, everything, technically. But I know Hogan's Heroes gets a lot of flack (much of which is asinine and uneducated). catlover79 02-24-2009, 11:23 PM I always enjoyed The Dukes Of Hazzard. It was widely panned because of "simplistic storylines". I always found the closeness of family and spirituality on the show to be appealing. Ditto. That and Perfect Strangers (well, my dad is the only one I know of who doesn't like PS). Those are two shows that are just plain FUN to watch. Good, clean fun. How many shows can you say that about these days? ryan423 02-25-2009, 12:10 AM I loved Back to you and George Lopez, while my family could not see why. Adamantium 02-25-2009, 12:27 AM 'Til Death - I love this show, but no one I know seems to like it, except for one person. However, they've ditched it since the Woodcocks left. And of course online this show is constantly being bashed. It's rare to go somewhere and find a nice thing to be said about the show. Saved by the Bell: The New Class - Another show I like, but no one else seems to, with the exception of a couple others online. And there's one person I know who likes it. But the majority of people I meet (in person or online) hate the show. littlebelle 02-25-2009, 01:32 AM Everybody makes fun of me for liking Touched by an Angel. Big C 02-25-2009, 03:46 AM Everybody makes fun of me for liking Touched by an Angel. I'm not one of them, but I know the answer as to why you like that show: http://tv.popcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/touched-by-an-angel.jpg Hint- the girl wearing glasses. jimpickens 02-25-2009, 04:08 AM SOF/Soldier Of Fortune Inc/Special Operations Force Firefly Ted Nugent's Spirit Of The Wild or for that instance anything involving hunting and shooting Married With Children Pro wrestling Three Stooges Space Giants SWAT Battlestar Galactica Buck Rogers in the 24 Century Sha Na Na Classic Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry comedyfreak 02-25-2009, 05:24 AM Smallville Pro Wrestling Married With Children Lost In Space HuntingtonM15 02-25-2009, 05:27 AM Everybody makes fun of me for liking Touched by an Angel. I used to love it during its original run. I missed the last couple seasons of it, though. I haven't seen the show in years. littlebelle 02-25-2009, 12:40 PM I'm not one of them, but I know the answer as to why you like that show: http://tv.popcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/touched-by-an-angel.jpg Hint- the girl wearing glasses. Actually, I started watching the show before Valerie came one- when she did join the cast it was an added bonus. Contraire to popular belief, I always thought Gloria was a delightful addition. KurtfromPitts 02-25-2009, 03:10 PM The Brady Bunch, Small Wonder, Full House. repeatshistory 02-25-2009, 06:02 PM Ted Nugent's Spirit Of The Wild or for that instance anything involving hunting and shooting Pro wrestling Actually, Jim, while I am not a hunter and haven't been to a shooting range since I was a child, I enjoyed the Ted Nugent show VERY much. He is an incredibly intelligent, and actually a very empathetic human being. Just because he and I are not necessarily on the same side politically, doesn't mean that I don't agree with him about some other things, and I truly appreciate his reasoned approach to the conclusions he has made about life. I do understand and appreciate the appeal of this show, and of Mr. Nugent. As for pro wrestling: who doesn't understand the appeal of the gladiator arena done as soap opera? This is soaps for guys. And that's what makes it fun. Chocoholic 02-26-2009, 08:28 PM American Idol- I guess either you like it or you don't. Wings- The critics hated it, but I know a lot of people who liked it. |
