The annoying Peter thread below got me thinking about another episode where he annoyed me. It was the one where he seeks his personality. Not a bad episode until the end. In the epilogue he comes in feeling sorry for himself anew, stating what a personality free kid he is. His parents inquire about this and he says a guy with no personality gets invited to parties or something to that effect. His parents just smile and shake their heads. I think he should have been told to give up the "woe is me" garbage and quit feeling sorry for himself. What a little drama queen he was being. Popularity via others feeling sorry for you is not a good thing.

I thought it was annoying. I would have thought that Greg or Marcia would have told Peter, just one toy.

I think that there were a lot of cases in which he got annoying in that episode. He let success and self-importance go to his head. The instance in which he really outdid himself was when he threw a party in his own honor! Also, I thought is was very amusing when Marcia said "he's way past Alexander the Great, he's Peter the Perfect"!

For me, the most "Peter is annoying" episode was when he had two dates on the same night. He was supposed to go to a Halloween party with a pretty blonde girl (by the way, his vampire costume was horrendous) and he had another date with a brunette girl. He was keeping the blonde in the living room watching tv and the brunette in the rec room. He would alternate dancing with the brunette and then would quickly dress up as a vampire for the blonde girl. What a wacko he was in that episode!! Which episode was this?

That episode was "Two Petes in a Pod" from Season 5

That's the ep in which Pete meets his look-a-like at school, Arthur Owens.

Pete sends Arthur into the Brady house after school to see if he can fool the family. Mike gets a call from his boss asking if Peter would be available to entertain the boss' niece (the brunette), and Mike asks Arthur, who agrees to do so. What Arthur didn't know was that Pete already had a date that night for the Halloween party (with the blonde). After they switch back and Pete enters the Brady home, Mike thanks him for agreeing to hang out with the boss' niece. Pete had no idea what Mike was talking about, so he calls Arthur, who explains to Pete what happened.

Pete and Arthur then decide to have Arthur come over that night and act as Pete to entertain the brunette, while Pete will keep his date with the blonde. But Arthur ends up being detained because he has to watch his little sister until his folks get home. So Pete is stuck entertaining both his and Arthur's dates, going back and forth between the two girls, until his plan is exposed.

It was funny in that ep when 5th-season-Jan asks Arthur (thinking he's Pete) to help her with some math...and Arthur is stunned seeing how hot Jan is. He just stares at her the whole time. He agrees to help her, which totally stuns Jan.... Then, by the time Pete actually returns, Jan goes up to him with her math book, asks him for help, and Pete dismisses her in the classic brother/sister way (today, he would say "wtf are you talking about?", but that wasn't done in 1974). After he scoffs at her, Jan says "I knew it (Pete being nice to her) wouldn't last".

Good observations! I did think the Lone Ranger music was funny during Peter's costume changes! hahaha. The one thing is that it wasn't Math homework where Jan asked for help, it was a composition that she had to write.

I remember somebody asking why Robert Reed agreed to appear in this one and that is a very good question. If "The Hair Brained Scheme" was too much for him, I don't know how "Two Petes in a Pod" saw him appearing in it.
