I'm aware of Anchor Bay using syndicated episodes for the first season Roseanne Dvd release, and understand fans were outraged, and the second season and thereafter they got it right and have the original network versions. So what happened in seasons 8 and 9, they're back to chopping up???? Why would they do this? I want to start collecting the series, but I was waiting for a re-release of season 1, then I find out about seasons 8 & 9, what gives??? Theres some classic stuff they cut out like the identical Beckies paradying The Patty Duke Show. This is discouraging!!!

The company says it was just "music cues that needed to be replaced," but I see the end credits of ep1 in season 8 it's just a black screen. So I guess they removed that Patty Duke scene? If you really like season 8, I'd say buy it maybe when there's a sale at least. Some episodes were funny and you'll have the extras ;). It doesn't look likely they'll ever pay for some of these "music cues" to rerelease season 8/9. I have Roseanne season 1 (syndicated and uncut version) and it's usually a scene or two missing but nothing usually related to the main story. I'd say syndicated version is worth $20 if it's something you really want to see.
