Those are lessons to be learned from, and that is only a very small portion of the bible.

One thing's for sure, the Bible's never tried to cover up the worst failures or sins of human nature. And another thing is certain too (to me, and many on SO), the Bible also offers the solution.

I love the bible, but I love it for the truth it reveals about man's relationship
with god and I and other Christians strive to pattern our lives after this
divine book.

There is actually a Bible study series entitled Bad Girls of the Bible. :lol: But everyone is right that there is much to learn from in the Bible. I just finished reading J. Vernon McGee's commentary books on the Book of John - it was fascinating!! :D

Noah-The first alcoholic!

Yes, we all heard the story about Noah and the Ark, but the story really doesn't end there. Noah became a vino and was drunk in his own vineyard and he wasn't dressed! Ham told his brothers and once Noah woke up...he yelled at Ham who's son was Cannan.

I have found that I read many verses of the bible several times and yet each time I get a new meaning from it. What other book, fiction or otherwise, can do that? :D

Right now in my daily devotions, I am reading from "My Utmost For His Highest" by the late Oswald Chambers. Today's (2/22) piece was on spiritual perseverance and how we continue to walk with our Lord on a daily basis, keeping focus on Jesus' eventual victory. "Be still and know that I am God.." was the focus passage from Psalm 46:10.

One way I am going to persevere spiritually is to get serious again about my faith. I am going to challenge myself by reading the entire bible in one year. I have tried to do so in the past, but I got away from it and procrastinated. NO MORE! I found a good devotional book with the plan laid out in a manner that will be easy for me to follow.

I look forward to the adventure.

The three men are FURIOUS, and the boss says, 'Well, you agreed to get paid five dollars. It doesn't matter how short the fourth man worked for." I am sure today, those three men would take the boss to court and sue him.

Of course, you would have been right, if that had happened in real life. But that story is a parable, which means that everybody will get their reward (forgiveness for their sins), even if it takes time for some to start mending their ways.

Its been changed so much over the years by the ppl writing it,we dont know if its anything like the original Hebrew writing!! (Would be neat seeing)
