When I was in high school, the ran a story about a guy who got fired because he was a gay boy scout leader.....:rolleyes: :mad: :( I am still upset over it...... He was not a PEDOPHILE, he just happened to like ADULT MEN(not little boys)..... I would agree if he was a pedophile who molested little boys, i'd back the decision 100%. But that was not thye case.... I am glad he fought back, even though he lost..... I wonder, wouldn't that be the same thing as a straight woman being a boy scout leader? People wouldn't go, 'Oh, she's straight.... She might molest those little boys.":rolleyes:

Unfortunately Gay men are often pegged as pedophiles which is so incorrect. I am guessing that the Boy Scouts banned him because they didn't want him to be a "bad" influence on the boys. Like everything else controversial it takes time for people and society to accept things that are "different". That's just the way things are.

Ah... discrimination... I really HATE it. Not just toward gay people (although they get the brunt of it these days, it seems). Also toward African Americans, Indians, Asians, Mexicans and... yes,.... WOMEN. I think it is getting better a little bit every day... but I don't think we will ever be completely clear of it. :mad:

I am wondering how his Scout supieriors found out that he was gay in the first place. They most likely eavesdropped on a conversation between he and his boyfriend on the phone, because I doubt that he would have said, 'I'm gay, I like men.", knowing that his Scout supieriors would be discriminatory.:rolleyes:
