View Full Version : Who is your favorite bit part actor on S&S?
Cloud9 Lorraine 02-20-2009, 10:07 PM There were quite a few actors that had small rolls throughout the S&S series. For example, Frank Nelson, the "Yesssssss" guy had various bit parts -- he played a waiter in one ep, the owner of the pawn shop in another. You get the idea....
So who was your favorite actor who played the lesser parts?
For me, I loved Fritzi Burr and any roll she played.

My man AH-CHU!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
catlover79 02-20-2009, 11:14 PM I don't know her name, but it was that big woman that Fred went out with (when Lamont and Julio supposedly went to Tijuana). The huge woman who called Fred a jive chump. I LOVED HER!!! :brent
Big Fred Fan 02-21-2009, 06:11 PM I'll have to give this some thought. There were quite a few good and bad.
I disliked the Whopper Chopper / Lucky Number Scam guy.
I like the tax man / junk dealer guy, (Marvin?), but they gave him lousy lines.
Hutch sucked.
Liked Carroll (spelling?)
MickeyMac 02-21-2009, 06:19 PM I like the white lady who showed up in various roles, and that Fred would always end up insulting about her looks.

Yes, that's Fritzi Burr! I loved her. Especially when she played the nurse in the "Fred Sanford Has a Baby" ep, Season 5. Hysterical.
GARFIELDKOOL 02-21-2009, 11:24 PM I liked two bit part characters. I liked the mortician guy that showed up earlier in the series cracking those death jokes, and I also like that doctor that appeared that always said, "I don't know." LOL
MickeyMac 02-22-2009, 05:31 PM Leroy and Skillet were good too.

Damn, I forgot about my boys Leroy and Skillet! They should have been regulars, they brought so much energy to the show!
Big Fred Fan 02-23-2009, 06:36 AM I liked two bit part characters. I liked the mortician guy that showed up earlier in the series cracking those death jokes, and I also like that doctor that appeared that always said, "I don't know." LOL
I liked Dr. Caldwell (Davis Roberts) as well: he said "my fee is $10." Fred gives him $5 and Dr. Caldwell says "when will I get the rest?" and Fred says "I don't know!"....
An interesting statement: When discussing whether or Lamont was gay, the Dr. Caldwell stated "Well, at least no one's died from it!" OH MY, How times have changed!
Ironically, the chain-smoking good doctor (Davis Roberts) died of emphysema in 1993 at the age of 76.
That's "Dr. Caldwell in the upper left of the photo.
When was it taken?....................."I don't know!"
Big Fred Fan 02-23-2009, 06:55 AM I also liked Mary, "The Light Housekeeper" (Mary Wickes). She was also from St. Louis, but given her background, I doubt the her and John Elroy Sanford (Redd Foxx) were childhood friends. But, "she did make a mean Boiled Mutton!!
Big Fred Fan 02-23-2009, 07:36 AM Gus (Liam Dunn) "A Guest In The Yard" was classic! Dr. Caldwell examined him too!

Cloud9 Lorraine 02-23-2009, 08:18 PM And lets not forget Sonny Cochran, the lawyer/tailor.
Big Fred Fan 02-24-2009, 07:30 AM And lets not forget Sonny Cochran, the lawyer/tailor.
Oh Yes!!! Wasn't that episode "Fred, Legal Eagle"? Watch this episode and see where Mr. Cochran's shirt collar is in disarray for a good portion of the scene. Not very becoming of a "Lawyer/Tailor"!
Sonny Cochran was played by Antonio Fargas, otherwise known as Huggy Bear!
Cloud9 Lorraine 02-24-2009, 08:23 PM Oh Yes!!! Wasn't that episode "Fred, Legal Eagle"?
Fred: "Sonny, are you a lawyer?"
Sonny: "That depends on who you ask. If you ask me, I'm a lawyer."
Fred: "Who says you're not a lawyer?"
Sonny: "The State of California."
:rotflmao:
Creeping Cruds 06-16-2009, 11:24 PM Leroy and Skillet were good too.
I named my bulldog Skillet after LnS!
