This week's episode of One Tree Hill was all about taking that scary next step, whether it was Lucas and Peyton testing the waters of parenthood or a few different couples acting on their feelings. Chad Michael Murray also made his directorial debut in a pretty solid episode save for a few cheesy moments.
While he started off as a jerk, Julian's character has shown more charm and depth as the weeks have gone on. In the aftermath of the police arresting Jack's brother, he showed up to Brooke's house, coffee in hand for both girls, as a little something to kick-start their day. Julian reminds Sam, who's worried she can't find her friend, that he probably needs her right now. He also consoles Brooke who feels somewhat guilty for not reporting her attack before he went on to kill Quentin. Julian then gets to business or so he says. The two plan to have a business meeting to discuss the film's wardrobe, but Sam jokes that it's really a date for a different kind of business, her "lady business."
Peyton decides to see what she would look like preggers and after putting a basketball under her dress, realizes that she'll be with child on her wedding day. Not only is she worried that it's so "redneck" of them, but she's also stressing about how to tell Brooke. So she heads over to her BFF's to break the news but Sam makes it easy on her. She spills that Brooke and Julian are hot for each other and Peyton, who looks stunned, blurts out "I'm pregnant." Brooke starts crying but not tears of jealousy, more like tears of anxiety that she already put a corset in Peyton's 2nd "skinny girl" wedding dress. Brooke's actually ecstatic for the couple. And she's not the only one. Later on at the diner, Sam again spills the beans when Julian jokingly accuses Peyton of being jealous of him and Brooke by saying, "Dude get over yourself she's pregnant." As hard as it is for him to hear it he tells Peyton he's happy for them to which Peyton responds that if he breaks Brooke's heart, she'll break his face.
