LOS ANGELES (AP) — One of the contestants on "American Idol" who made the top 36 has been disqualified.

"American Idol" has issued a statement saying Joanna Pacitti of Philadelphia is ineligible to continue, but without saying why. Felicia Barton of Virginia Beach, Va., has replaced Pacitti in the top 36.

Pacitti could not immediately be reached for comment.

This happens practically every year for some reason. A few examples:

Season 1 - Someone named Delano gets DQd for being over the age limit.
Season 2 - Frenchie Davis gets DQd for posing topless for public photos.
Season 3 - Someone named Donny gets DQd for a drunk driving citation (if it wasn't for this, George Huff would not have made the Top 32, let alone the Top 12)
