I would highly doubt they will pick it up again with the current direction TV land is going in now. Personally, I don't really care because all 5 seasons of the dick van dyke show are released on dvd. You can also watch the first two seasons on hulu.com

I agree with Indy. Since TVLand and Nick are becoming worse all the time, I can't see them airing a classicly great sitcom like DVD again. ;)

Best now to get the DVD set now. That's what I'll be doing. Besides, TVLand chops everything to bits so you're not getting the proper, full show watching it anyway.

Personally, I gave up on TVBland eons ago. And unfortunately most other cable networks that I have access to aren't much better (Hallmark, American Life, etc.). Because the older shows were longer there's just too much snipping that has to be done to satisfy today's advertisers.

And did you ever notice: those annoying network logos are there obscuring your vision when you're trying to watch a program, but they're nowhere to be seen when it's commercial time ? Compromise the viewers' tv-watching pleasure, but don't do anything to offend the advertisers ! Even the websites (like Hulu, Veoh, Blinkx, TV4U, etc.) show some logo (as if that's necessary !), and some add commercials ! But at least the commercials are brief and don't take away scenes from the shows.

TV Land has become a complete joke. It's not worth discussing anymore. I have often wondered why there can't be a TCM (Turner Classic Movies) for classic TV series. The show would be rstored to original length and commercials could be placed in the shows in the same manner as the original series. (if for examle ther was 24 minutes of show in the restored version there would be room for 6 minutes of commercials).

Why can't we have that?

I've often wondered that too Duster! I wish it would happen.

I can tell you, without a doubt the answer is NO.

That's a good thing, though, since if they did they'd butcher it to ribbons; look what they do to "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" & "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW".

The more these networks "butcher" things (as treky accurately puts it), the more frustrated viewers get and the more likely they are to go out and buy DVD's. Gee... It couldn't have been planned that way, could it ? ;)
